I am double board-certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. I believe in using both medication when indicated as well as therapy. I was trained in CBT and was given the Excellence in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy during my residency program. I use supportive therapy with each client I see. During my residency I served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Overall Excellence in Psychiatry Award as well as the Clinical Excellence Award.

Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Irritability, Guilt, Feeling of lack of control, Inability to pay attention, Sleeplessness are few of the many reasons that keep us from feeling happy. When experienced on daily basis, these can significantly interfere with our performance and relationships. We wish to be happy, to perform at our best. When these experiences are due to a psychiatric condition, it warrants appropriate treatment. I am a Board Certified Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist. I practice Evidence Based Psychiatry to treat multiple psychiatric and behavioral conditions in Children, Teenagers and Adults.

Ideally my patient is as invested in their care as I am. I like to think my practice offers something for everyone. I am a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, so I can prescribe medications, but I am also a therapist. Many patients like the idea of their psychopharmacologist also being their therapist, because it means that I understand my patients as whole persons, and can minimize the amount of medication necessary. In some cases problems can be addressed with therapy alone, by helping patients identify and manage their emotions. For patients who prefer to work with someone else as therapist, I can function solely as the psychopharmacologist.
