I am a dual board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Having started as an Educator, My Education and training Include a Master’s in psychology, a Master’s in Community and Public health, a Master’s in Family Nurse Practitioner, CAGS in PMHNP and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. As a Doctorate prepared Psychiatric and Family practitioner, I draw on my knowledge of Nursing, Psychology, Community / Public Health and Education to advocate for and provide the very best solutions for those I serve. I started my career in nursing in 2016 as an RN at McLean Hospital, working on a substance use disorder unit for adults. In 2017 I completed an NP eating disorder fellowship through Walden Behavioral Care. In 2017 I began working in the MGH Ed performing crisis psychiatric evaluations and follow ups for patients through the lifespan. I continue to work part-time with the Acute psychiatric services team at MGH. 2019-2020 I worked inpatient child psychiatry in Savannah, GA. I am currently working at Boston Children’s Hospital in Waltham on the inpatient and CBAT units.

I am a Harvard trained, Board Certified, Psychiatrist with a private practice in the Back Bay Area, Boston. My training includes my MD from Stanford with honors, Harvard residency training at MGH-McLean, and my certification in cognitive behavioral therapy (for anxiety, depression and PTSD) while I was faculty at the University of Pennsylvania and University of Massachusetts. My outpatient clinic was previously at Cambridge Health Alliance and I now run a boutique private practice offering personalized, attentive care and support. Narrative therapy and mindfulness training are included along with meticulous psychopharmacology.

Currently accepting new patients of all ages, ages 6 and up for in-person and virtual appointments. Ms. Ukatu envisions someone who is seeking understanding, support, and a path to better mental health. Her ideal client may be facing a variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, or other mental health challenges. They seek guidance, medication management, and a safe space for psychotherapy to work through their concerns. Their goal is to achieve a higher quality of life, emotional well-being, and overall mental health.

Dr. Toppelberg is an experienced, Harvard-trained child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist, usually working with ages 3-30. He evaluates and treats emotional/ behavioral difficulties including ADHD, depression, trauma, stress, anxiety, and selective mutism, and those preventing weight loss. He has focused on issues of performance at work, study and competitive sports. He regularly works with tour-level tennis players and other professional and student athletes. He is an expert in neurodevelopmental disabilities, as well as learning and language disabilities. He runs psychiatric services at an excellent school for children/adolescents with autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities, the prestigious New England Center for Children.

Meet Comfort, a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in treating Substance Use Disorders. Holding dual certifications as a PMHNP and AGPCNP, Comfort is licensed with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and is passionate about providing integrated care for individuals with dual diagnoses.

I enjoy with working with patients of all ages. My goal is to work with you closely to reach your goals for your mental health.

Leading a fulfilling and happy life can be challenging and may even seem impossible at times. I believe that communicating and connecting via talk therapy is one path towards a happier and more meaningful life. My view is that therapy provides an opportunity to gain insight into one's relationships with one's self, others and society. I use a variety of approaches in my therapeutic work according to what works for each individual person. Together we'll focus on trying to understand the root causes of various problems and repetitive patterns of behavior that are difficult to change.

I am a Board Certified psychiatrist and have been practicing for 41 years. I have expertise and extensive training in interpersonal and dynamic psychotherapy, and in psychopharmacology. I believe in working with patients to develop a treatment plan that is uniquely appropriate to them, and I devote the time necessary to provide the care patients need. And to provide maximum therapeutic benefit with minimum negative side effects, I take a conservative approach to medication, and get to know you well before prescribing.

I am a Harvard-trained child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. I have experience in providing diagnostic assessment, ongoing psychotherapy, parent guidance, medication (psychopharmacology) treatment and consultations. I enjoy working with people of all ages. I have served as a psychiatric consultant to a university counselling service, and I continue to work with middle, high school, and college age students. My approach draws on my training in a wide variety of treatment modalities, including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral and family work.

If you need help to gain or regain a good enough balance and a way to find happiness in your life, I have decades of valuable experience. I am known as a "psychiatrist's psychiatrist," a true healer, and one who is gifted at working with "challenging" situations" -- both individual and couples. Therapy is my specialty, and I evaluate and prescribe medication only for patients I treat in therapy when it is truly indicated. I particularly enjoy working with individuals who are more interested in developing their own capacities than in complaining about the inadequacy of what they find outside themselves in the world and in other people. I do not provide "medication management" if that is a primary reason for consultation.
