Susan A. Nolan, Ph.D., is a professor of psychology at Seton Hall University. She received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University. She has a range of research interests including critical thinking in the classroom, assessment in higher education, stigma and mental health, and the role of gender in STEM careers. The latter has been funded in part by the National Science Foundation. She is also the coauthor of statistics and introductory psychology textbooks, a book on critical thinking based on the story of Clever Hans, and co-editor of a book on assessment in higher education.

Nolan is President-Elect of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology (STP), Division 2 of the American Psychological Association (APA). She is Past President of the Eastern Psychological Association (EPA), a former Vice President of Diversity and International Relations for STP, and a former member of the APA’s team at the United Nations. She is currently an Associate Editor of the international journal Psychology Learning and Teaching and a Consulting Editor of the APA journal Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Psychology. She is a Fellow of EPA, APA, and the Association for Psychological Science, and was a 2015-2016 U.S. Fulbright Scholar in Bosnia and Herzegovina where she researched psychology higher education.

Michael Kimball is the author of eight books, including Big Ray, Dear Everybody, and Us. His work has been translated into a dozen languages, as well as featured on or in NPR’s All Things Considered, Oprah.com, Vice, The Guardian, and Bomb. For over two decades, he has edited university textbooks in fields of study including psychology, sociology, anthropology, biology, chemistry, government, and statistics. He also hosts the NBA podcast, Shot Tower.
