Do you feel lost, in pain, or want to work on your growth, self-development, and self-esteem? Did you experience trauma, grief, and feel stuck? Are you a survivor of violence, abuse, and feel like you will never feel better? Or are you a parent whose child is experiencing mental health issues, or is neurodivergent? Are you a caregiver of a family member with terminal illness or deteriorating condition? Did you try traditional "talk therapies" and feel that you may try something different? I will be happy to meet you and find ways to facilitate changes in your life. I use EMDR, music therapy, and other approaches. Call/email me!

Maybe you're not feeling like yourself lately (worried, sad, irritable, lonely, stressed). Feeling like this can be exhausting. Maybe you have thought of reaching out for help, but even just the thought of that overwhelms you. Let me start by saying that you are not alone! Symptoms of anxiety and depression tend to keep us feeling stuck, creating negative thoughts of self, and preventing us from doing what we need the most...connecting. What 'they' don't want you to know is that when you find the courage to reach out, you are opening the door to new possibilities. You matter and you deserve to feel better! Together, you can heal.

People see you as the one who has it all together, but deep down you feel like something is missing, you have feelings of shame and thoughts like "I'm not good enough". You're tired, over-worked, overwhelmed and anxious much of the time. Putting up this facade is taking a toll on your emotional health. Constantly striving to do it all is exhausting and not fulfilling for you.

Virtual, Phone, and In Person sessions available (in person in Niagara Falls, ON and Port Colborne, ON). Sometimes things can feel overwhelming. We can lose focus, motivation, or feel lost. That is okay, and absolutely normal. Having a supportive and safe space to express yourself, without fear of judgement can be beneficial. Identifying your goals, barriers, and your priorities can help organize your thoughts and start the path to healing. It can be tough to look forward when you are feeling stuck in one spot. Recognizing and reminding yourself of your strengths can be empowering.

Sometimes life just feels a lot; you’re anxious, totally burned out, or stuck in the same old patterns that aren’t helping. Whether it’s the stress of parenting, messy relationship stuff, or even dealing with someone else’s substance use, it can feel really heavy. That’s where I come in. I help people breathe again, feel more like themselves, and start making changes that actually stick without any judgment or pressure. I keep things real, compassionate, and practical, and I always work from a trauma-informed place. If you’re ready to feel more grounded and clear, I’d love to talk with you about it.

You are not alone. My practice holds space for healing when life changes everything. I support both healthcare providers who deliver compassionate care and individuals navigating loss, trauma, and major life stressors. My work creates space for healing, reflection and resilience. We often talk about trauma as something that affects the mind, but it also lives in the body — in tension, pain, and stress responses that present themselves long after the traumatic event has passed. Grief & Transition Empowerment Through Diagnosis (New Health Realities) Safety & Support (for those facing violence)

Female Counsellors

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
