The problem is that we can carry these emotional wounds and even physical scars for a long time and spend our energy trying to conceal them. However, if you have come this far I believe you want more than this. It’s your time to discover the healing you deserve. It’s time to give yourself permission to journey towards wholeness and to live your life with clarity and a new sense of purpose.

You don’t have to hold it all together on your own.
I work with clients who are ready to slow down, make sense of their inner world, and find new ways of relating, to themselves and to others.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply rooted in attachment-based, trauma-informed care. Together, we’ll gently explore the patterns often shaped by past relationships that may be keeping you feeling stuck, anxious, or disconnected.

You don't have to carry this alone. Maybe you look like you're coping on the outside-functioning, responsible, capable-but inside you feel exhausted, disconnected, or overwhelmed. Perhaps you're in a season of life that feels confusing or heavy. Menopause, relationship strain, caregiving, burnout, or a quiet sense that something needs to change.

Hi there! I'm Courtney, and I work with children and their parents, youth, and adults. Sometimes when you feel overwhelmed, it’s hard to know where to start. Or perhaps it's your child or teen who you are concerned about. Trying to do it all alone and without support is hard, but reaching out for help isn't easy.

Starting therapy can feel daunting, and it takes courage to reach out. I understand how vulnerable that first step can feel - and I also know how meaningful it can be to have a space where you feel understood and supported. If you’re a teen or adult struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or self-esteem, I’m here to help. I also work with athletes (ages 16+) to strengthen the mental side of performance and well-being. This includes exploring identity beyond sport, navigating transitions such as injury or retirement, and addressing perfectionism and burnout.

You’re holding it together on the outside, but inside it’s a different story. Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or just plain stuck. Sometimes, you don’t need advice—you just need someone to talk to who really listens. In therapy, there’s no pressure to have it all figured out. We slow things down, explore what’s really going on, and make space for your emotions—messy, loud, quiet, or confusing. We’ll unpack what’s been weighing you down and gently move toward what brings you relief, clarity, and purpose. If you're ready for real conversations and meaningful change, I’m here for it.

We seek out therapy for many reasons, but the process of finding a therapist who is a good fit for us can itself feel overwhelming. I first and foremost offer a safe space where you can feel heard, seen and understood. My approach to therapy is relational and collaborative, which means that it is the co-created relationship between us that is the healing force of therapy. Our sessions draw upon experiences from the past and bring to light how these get replayed, with or without our knowing, in our present ways of thinking, feeling and relating to others. Together we explore these repetitive patterns that can keep us feeling stuck.

I foster a safe refuge where you can begin to unpack your lived experiences free from judgment. While honouring your story, I offer support in exploring what is working and what is deterring you from where you would like to be. In doing so, pathways can be created to explore healthier ways to cope, live a more meaningful and authentic life, gain greater insight, and communicate your needs and boundaries with others. My approach to therapy is trauma-informed/focused, anti-oppressive, strengths-based and draws from intersectional feminist theory. I integrate mindfulness, CBT, narrative therapy, neuroscience, and mind/body approaches.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
