I work from a family systems perspective, if one is suffering within family then it impacts all, this includes children.
I have a social work background, and continued my study into family therapy and couple therapy, which I have continued to practice over the last decade. I recognise that if the family system is struggling then the whole entire family suffer also. This includes the children within the family. I work with the internal belief about self, ‘why do I feel stuck’, ‘why are my thoughts controlling me’. I work with couples who are in that destructive cycle they cannot get out of and families that struggle with showing their true feelings and emotions, whether good or bad. Ask yourself, ‘what is stopping me from speaking my truth’.

My practice is informed by a vast array of psychological modalities (Gestalt, IFS, SE), as well as the transpersonal.
Life can be hard, uncertain and confusing, and yet there is an expectation that we inherently know how to live and relate well. This is a fallacy. The realms of the personal are complex, made even more complex when two or more lives come together in relationship. Guidance, mentorship, support and education are necessary elements to navigating the vicissitudes of life and relationship. I therefore guide my clients (individuals, couples and other relationships) through a unique exploratory process of understanding, discovery and growth.

My approach is trauma-informed, strength-based, and includes attachment and polyvagal theories, Internal Family Systems (parts work) and is guided by the concepts of self-organisation and mind/body wisdom.
I come to the therapeutic space with a deep curiosity about life and the people I meet there, their stories, their lives, their relationships with others and most importantly with themselves. I join with you and guide you to discover the more hidden parts of yourself that you haven’t yet explored or have only touched on. Perhaps there’s a difficult or recurring issue from your personal or professional life that you would like to address. It could be grief, loss, depression, anxiety, addiction, dissociation, historical or current trauma, life transition, identity or relationship issues, or even existential questions and concerns.

This can include EMDR, and usually IFS parts work.
Typically, my clients have been to therapy many times before, but don't quite get to the bottom of their problems. They have tried the traditional methods of therapy that promote coping, but feel disheartened when they inevitably fall back into their old habits. Often they appear fine on the outside, but every day is a struggle. There is a big feeling of stuckness, or that 'something isn't right'. It's often hard to say exactly what is wrong. The words 'anxiety' and 'depression' don't seem to properly explain things. There may be a history of bad relationships, or struggling to accept love. Despite all this, they haven't given up.
