Since 1997, Discovery Mood & Anxiety Program has been helping thousands of patients build the confidence and skills they need to better navigate life’s challenges. We look at the person, not the diagnosis. We reveal what’s possible for those who have experienced a history of depression, anxiety or other mood disorders. With evidence-based treatment, complementary modalities, family therapy and ongoing support, we utilize our world-class continuum of care to turn lives around.

Multi Concept Recovery (MCR) is an intensive outpatient center centrally located in the Media District of Burbank, California. Multi Concept Recovery offers a client-centered, unique, approach to treat addiction/substance abuse and mental health for adults and adolescents . Our substance use treatment program is separate from our mental health (ONLY) program. Our individually crafted approach affords each client the opportunity to make an educated decision on what treatment approach works best for them. We are not a one size fits all treatment center. Clients are initially exposed to a variety of therapeutic modalities, encouraged to choose which modality works best for them, then empowered to continue on with that modality for long term success.

Iris Healing Retreat is well known for specializing in caring for clients considered to be 'dual-diagnosis'. We employ top notch clinicans to address the mental health component, and utilize the latest in available technology to heal any underlying traumas that our clients may have. In fact, Iris utilizes Brainspotting, the latest and greatest modality available for the treatment of trauma. Additionally, clients have accesss to neurofeedback sessions, at least two private individual sessions per week, hypnotherapy and family sessions. Our clients also participate in daily psycho-educational group sessions that focus on a variety of topics, such as Relapse Prevention, Emotional Process Groups, CBT/DBT, Psyhodrama, coping skills, yoga, Breathwork etc.

At Iris Healing Center's Intensive Outpatient Program, we offer a diverse clinical program designed to benefit each of our clients as much as possible. All of our primary therapists are either Doctoral or Masters level educated, and have many years of experience working in the field of Addiction and Mental Health treatment. Additionally, they are all specially trained in Brainspotting - a highly effective clinical modality used for trauma treatment and resolution of trauma symptoms. Our evidence-based groups and sessions, groups like Breathwork, Rock to Recovery, and Guided Meditation are also included in the program at Iris Healing Center.

When our emotional life is out of balance or unregulated we often find ourselves repeating patterns that become self-defeating. These self-defeating patterns can leave us feeling anxious, unsatisfied, or depressed, and often lead to low self-esteem. We may feel shame, the feeling that something is deeply wrong with me or that I am defective, different, or not good enough. When these emotions are untreated we may isolate or seek relationships hoping they will make us better. We have found that generally when a person experiences different types of trauma, distress and dysregulation caused by trauma can lead to other manifestations of the pain including addiction, depression, anxiety, self-harm, and attachment difficulties. We may compulsively eat, use drugs or alcohol, spend, or over work. We may find we walk through life always ready for the other shoe to drop, full of tension and anxiety or even experiencing panic attacks. Or we may find that we have lost interest in things that once brought us joy and live our lives feeling sad or numb.

Dr. Daniel E. Bruzzone, PsyD, QME, Clinical Director of Accent On Wellness Psychology Associates, Inc. (formerly Social Science Consulting), specializes in Clinical and Forensic Psychology. His background also includes military and aviation-related experience, and he is bilingual (English/Spanish). Dr. Bruzzone has provided mental health services to diverse populations, and in varied settings throughout the Los Angeles area, since 2002.
