Newport Academy is a different kind of teen outpatient treatment center. Our philosophy of care is grounded in addressing the root causes of destructive behaviors—the trauma, depression, anxiety, abandonment wounds, and lack of self-esteem that catalyze co-occurring disorders. Our integrated approach guides teens and their families to achieve long-term, sustainable healing from mental health conditions as well as substance abuse, eating disorders, self-harm, and other maladaptive behaviors. Based in clinical expertise and compassionate care, our whole-person treatment model takes into account the physical, psychological, social, educational, and spiritual needs of adolescents. We support young people ages 12 and up in building authentic connection with self; restoring harmony in the family system; and developing supportive relationships with peers. Evolve Treatment Centers supports adolescents ages 12-17 struggling with mental health, addiction, and/or behavioral issues. Evolve Vanalden is a Comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Residential Treatment Center: the first of its kind in California and one of only a handful in the country. DBT is an evidence-based treatment that has been proven to help reduce emotion dysregulation, self-harming behavior, and/or suicidal ideation. We treat teens diagnosed with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder, addiction, or other issues. Evolve's robust clinical program includes individual and family therapy (at least five scheduled 1-hour sessions a week), DBT Skills Training Groups (4 times a week), and skills coaching (24/7). Teens learn and practice the four core skills of DBT: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. At Evolve, we don't just learn DBT, we live it. With the help of our specialized staff, teens practice and apply their DBT skills at all opportunities throughout the day.

Evolve Arden Oaks provides the highest quality of evidence-based residential treatment for adolescents ages 12-17 struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction, self-harming or high-risk behaviors, suicidal ideation, defiance, trauma, aggression, and other emotional/behavioral issues. Our primary modes of treatment are Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), in addition to Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Behavioral Activation, and other data-driven modalities. We believe treatment works best when it is individually tailored. Our clinical staff conducts a comprehensive evaluation of each teen pre- and post-admission to develop a highly detailed treatment plan that considers the patient’s individual history and symptoms. Our robust clinical program includes individual and family therapy, psychiatry, academic support, and daily groups (e.g. DBT Skills Training, Relapse Prevention, and Seeking Safety). Teens also participate in experiential therapies such as equine-assisted therapy, music, art, fitness, drama, yoga, and more. We also offer 12-Step/ SMART Recovery programs.

Our skilled clinicians utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities to treat issues related to substance abuse and co-occurring mental disorders. Each member of our team was hand picked in order to create a warm and supportive environment for your teen and family. All adolescents receive bi-weekly individual therapy sessions in addition to extensive family therapy. Supplemental daily group therapy sessions promote further growth for your teen within his or her peer group.

At Newport Academy, we know that treatment financing can make all the difference in receiving quality treatment. To that end, we promote collaborative relationships with all healthcare payers to optimize the benefit coverage for families in need. We accept all major insurance, and up to 100 percent of our services are covered. Insurance covers up to 100 percent of the treatment and therapeutic modalities that Newport Academy offers. We accept all major insurance providers and work collaboratively with payers to optimize coverage for families. Many adolescents who receive treatment from Newport Academy using insurance coverage do so through a Single Case Agreement, a special contract through which out-of-network providers can work with a family’s insurance company on an In-Network basis. Newport Academy maintains a full-time, in-house team dedicated to supporting families through the mental health insurance coverage and financing process. In order to secure sufficient insurance coverage, we will most likely need to conduct a series of clinical reviews and any requested doctor-to-doctor calls with the insurance company. While other facilities may charge for this service, we feel it is our responsibility to assist families with what can be a complex process. Our goal is to ensure that families receive the maximum coverage, so they can access the highest-quality treatment.
