I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist and a lover of souls. I work with people of all ages and different cultures. My goal is to meet you right where you're at, establish a trusted relationship, and join with you to help you survive and thrive through life's challenges, and to give you the tools to make the positive changes you are seeking. My clients range from abused women and children to law enforcement and wounded warriors; individuals, families, and couples. As a volunteer first responder chaplain, I am acquainted with grief, trauma, and loss, and am honored and humbled to help people through the worst times of their lives.

We all face difficult times in life and sometimes cannot even pinpoint the source of the pain. I work with adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety/depression, past-trauma, divorce/separation, toxic relationships and negative seIf-talk/faulty thinking. I love to help people grow!  This has been a central theme in the different chapters of my life. I am a seasoned counselor with over 30 years of experience helping individuals, couples, families and churches. I am a Christian counselor with an MA in Biblical Counseling from Grace Theological Seminary, a BS in Mathematics from the US Air Force Academy, studied Family Systems at Texas Woman’s University. I served as a pilot in the US Air Force, I served as a field representative for the Navigators, a worldwide Christian organization. I served as a staff counselor at Dallas Theological Seminary before coming to the NW in 1990.

We base our evaluations on the individual. A specific diagnosis along with treatment recommendations is offered. Encountering issues with alcohol or other drugs does not necessarily warrant a diagnosis for chemical dependency. While in the process of recovery we help you determine your life goals and ambitions. It is easy to get "clean and sober" and it is difficult to stay "clean and sober". That's why you can count on us to walk with you on the journey of maintaining a life of sobriety and freedom.

I take a ‘client-centered’ approach to therapy and believe therapy is a partnership between the client and the therapist. I take the time to build a trusting, mutually-respectful client/therapist relationship. I provide guidance and support for clients to reach their full potential and make their own choices based on what is best for them. I strive to honor God in all that I do, which includes helping his children along life’s journey. I incorporate spiritual themes, tailored to the client’s personal belief system.

Telehealth/virtual counseling only. I am open: Monday, Tuesday all day. I make time for businesses needing a Critical Incident Stress Management specialist for a traumatic situation in the workplace. I supervise therapists seeking supervision hours for full licensure, and I am an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and Washington state approved supervisor. I help those with relationship issues or adjustments such as divorce, a move in career or home location, losses or kids growing up and leaving home, or struggling to navigate and adjust to chronic illness, and grief and loss, just to name a few topics.

Fastest way to our wait list is the request for service on our website. Anxiety is awful. Most people just do not understand how difficult it is to live with chronic worry, panic attacks, or obsessive thoughts and unwanted behavior. Gladly, most people will never have to know how horrible it is to have nagging obsessive thoughts, or fear panicking in public places. The variety of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (CBT) like Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) are quite effective in increasing distress tolerance, reducing anxiety, and eliminating the dysfunctional behaviors that accompany it.
