My training supports our collaboration for your success attaining the life you want and deserve drawing on Family Systems Theory, Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM), EMDR, Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Voice Dialogue, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Processing (NLP), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), all within a holistic approach.

My passion is helping clients rediscover their true potentials and bring joy back into their lives. I follow a strengths-based model of practice while utilizing a combination of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral techniques. Essentially, I believe in a holistic approach, in that all of our experiences (physical, emotional, spiritual, and social) are integral in our unique compositions. Our early experiences often show up in our current lives, and can manifest themselves in a myriad of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I value the interaction with my clients and believe in empowering clients by direct participation in the therapeutic process.

I work with clients who want more satisfaction and meaning in life and relationships. The pain of anxiety, low mood, ADHD, addictive or compulsive behaviors, transitions, loss, trauma, or relational distress motivates them to look for change. They are curious about knowing themselves more deeply, through the heart and felt-sense experience, as well as the intellect. To grow beyond the safety of the familiar self in meaningful ways, they are willing to face some discomfort and vulnerability, and commit to useful behaviors and habits. They value this one precious life they have here, and want to make the best of it.

Every person is unique and amazing in their own way. We come together to share your deepest self and at times there can seem to be few words to connect. We are accustomed to putting on our armor, presenting our inauthentic self and carrying this self into our relationships. We have a loud, blaming inner voice that we listen to and allow to minimize our wholeness. But each of us has the innate ability to heal ourselves.

My counseling approach is to first help you clarify your presenting problems from an integrated mind-body-spirit-environment perspective. I utilize mindfulness to help you to develop clarity in the present moment, and with depth psychology, psychodynamic, EMDR, art therapy, Jungian psychology, and focusing-oriented psychotherapy to help you explore and embrace your, SELF, inner wisdom, and unconscious awareness for healing. Through processing unhealed wounds in the past, we can unveil the authentic SELF, and finding life meanings to journey on.

As an LMFT serving Bainbridge Island, I utilize a humanistic, evidence-based, emotionally focused perspective with children, youth, and adults with concerns including anxiety, depression, attachment, trauma, self-harm, identity, and gender questioning issues. I find Lifespan Integration and Somatic Transformation helpful in resolving trauma. I treat couples and families working through conflict, life transitions, divorce, grief, and loss. Additionally, I am an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and a Washington State Supervisor offering supervision to associates.

Our lives are complex. As your therapist, it is my job to understand this complexity coupled with your psychological needs to facilitate the realization of your goals. I see my role as understanding you, your history, and your environment in a holistic way and using that knowledge to promote exploration and growth. Beyond understanding why people act the way that they do, I collaborate with you to apply that understanding to interventions that facilitate positive change.

I welcome you to taking the first step to supporting your individual/couple/family mental/emotional needs. It is a huge step and I am here to support you in your therapeutic process. I am bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have extensive training, and experience working with adults, and couples on a broad range of issues particularly trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and family conflict. In addition to providing therapy, I also lead and organize couples retreats/workshops, therapist retreats (trainings), and Wellness Retreats.

Currently, we have no availability for new clients and we are not using a wait list. We will update this when we have avaiability. We are available for associate therapist supervision. Our goal is to help associates gain their hours towards independent licensure while helping them develop their own private practice.
