I believe that mental health conditions can be compared to physical injuries. For example when you sprain your ankle, you need to go to see a specialist. She/he will prescribe you some anti-inflammatory medications - maybe Ibuprofen and some Cortisone shots. Then you will need to attend physical therapy (PT). If you work hard during your PT appointments, your ankle will get better and you will need less medication. The same can be said about mental health disorders.

I have over five years of experience working in the behavioral health field. During that time, I have worked in a variety of settings to include inpatient, outpatient, and residential substance abuse. As a PMHNP, I have the unique ability and scope of practice that allows me to offer medication management and therapeutic services to my clients. I firmly believe that every person has their own unique journey that lead them to where they are in life. I seek to help each client without judgement or bias on what they seek to achieve by receiving behavioral health services.
