I help people work through addiction recovery, anxiety, depression and difficult relationships. Having a strength-based approach that focuses on wellness and getting unstuck from repeating cycles is the approach I take. I work with anxiety, OCD, depression, addiction (alcohol, sexual, drug, spending, overeating, and work). I also work with chronic pain issues from a place of helping people express emotion. I do both in person and teleconferencing counseling at this time.

I have 23 years of experience in the fields of mental health and law enforcement. I believe in empowering my clients and working collaboratively so you can become the most effective, best version of you. I can help you overcome vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and other stressors in your life; depression, anxiety, criminal justice involvement, substance abuse, sexual deviancy and "fit for duty issues". I strive to assist individuals and families to find their way through the emotional land mines and roadblocks that get in the way of having a good life, or even a "good enough" life. What I bring to help this process is a Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Science with a focus on Systems Counseling (couples and family therapy). I am a licensed mental health counselor with 20 year's experience as well as being a state-approved supervisor for licensure candidates.

I graduated from Liberty University with a Master's degree in Human Service Counseling focused on Addiction and Recovery. I am a Washington State Certified Counselor and a Sex Addiction Therapist.

In our lives, we can find ourselves stuck, confused, overwhelmed, and weary; perplexed about how our life is unfolding. We find ourselves asking what is happening with me? How did I get here? To understand the complexity of the challenges we’re facing as humans, we need to start with pausing to build awareness and perspective. Yet, when we’re tangled up inside ourselves, in our circumstances, relationships, all of life’s distractions, and the conditioning of our past experiences, it’s so difficult to do this work on our own. That is what the work of therapy is about: partnering with a trained guide in this uncharted territory.

I like to start with a 2 session diagnostic evaluation to help identify the most appropriate evidence based treatment for the problem. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for Depression, CBT for OCD, Parent Behavior Management Training for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Habit Reversal Training for Skin Picking, Nail Biting, and Trichotillomania, and Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics are some of the evidence based treatments that I commonly provide. My work with families focuses on providing skills to both the child/adolescent and parents.

I counsel the following populations: individuals struggling with anger, depression, grief, anxiety and/or trauma (such as acute trauma or PTSD); couples struggling with communication, trust, infidelity, and/or abusive patterns; and teens struggling with motivation, self-esteem, suicidal preoccupations, anti-social or other behavioral issues. I counsel individuals struggling with psychotic disorders, personality disorders and dissociative disorders. I provide family counseling as well as conflict resolution and mediation services. I provide coaching for wellness, psycho-spiritual growth, communication skills, relationship skills and parenting skills. Also, I provide psychosocial assessments.

I work collaboratively with clients to build on the strengths they already possess. I provide a safe and compassionate place for people to tell their story and create new stories involving self worth, healthy relationships, and a sense of empowerment. I will focus on your goals for yourself and you will drive the direction therapy takes you. I focus on your values as you define them with no judgment and no agenda. I will help you learn new skills to better handle trauma, life transitions, anxiety, depression, parenting, or any other life struggle that brings you to therapy.

I believe in the therapeutic process and relationship, and find immense joy in offering a sense of normalcy and hope to my clients. My services are for folks of any gender working toward self-acceptance in their lives. My expertise includes extensive work in the areas of body connection after sexual trauma, disordered eating, body dysmorphia, and dysphoria. I work with a variety of clients to reduce the impact of generational trauma that lives in the body. Of course this includes physical, emotional, spiritual and sexual traumas, and I especially love when I can support birthing clients with womb healing. I provide LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy and work across the lifespan on issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relational stressors, and family dynamics.
