It is a great privilege to be entrusted with the sacred work of helping individuals navigate life's issues. The therapeutic relationship is unlike any relationship one will experience anywhere because, in the therapy room, they are unconditionally valued and empathically listened to with their best interests in mind, free from hidden agendas, discrimination, or personal gain. In this safe environment, clients are encouraged to develop compassionate curiosity toward the pieces of their life story, which grants insight into their present functioning and is an essential part of their growth journey.

I provide therapy not only because I strive to support others, but because I believe therapy works. I admire the vulnerability and strength that go into the healing process. I know you have within you what it takes to heal, but that doesn't mean you have to do it alone. Through therapy, I hope you feel renewed, motivated, confident, and safe enough in your thoughts and body to fully engage in life. My clients are seeking out therapy for relief from their trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and/or anger.

Working in the medical field, I recognized long ago that the unresolved emotions or trauma that one carries can manifest through physical illnesses or chronic emotional illnesses.
Healing takes place when we finally give ourselves the permission to heal. I believe that one of the bravest things that you can do is to begin to understand your own story. Many people believe that therapy is an intimidating experience filled with fear and uncertainty. I strive to create an open, safe, supportive & compassionate space for you to begin your healing journey. I want to help you achieve your goals so that you may begin to live the life that you envision, filled with the peace, abundance and joy that you deserve!

Every person’s struggle is unique, but so are their strengths. My goal as a counselor is to help clients find their unique strengths and freedom from pain. I place great importance on assisting clients in finding the tools to succeed and find peace in their world.

I am a neurodivergent queer therapist with 10 years of experience supporting trauma survivors and a lifelong passion for learning.
Perhaps you're struggling to find purpose or you feel out of place like this world wasn't built for you. Maybe you want things to make sense, but your emotions just don't. Or your thoughts have a mind of their own! You're trying your best to adapt to a world that doesn't support all your needs. These are not personal failures. Don't blame the flower when it wilts! With tender attention and care, you'll become the gentle gardener of your soul. Therapy is a creative space for us to learn how to do just that. I'm wholeheartedly with you as you gain a richer understanding and appreciation of yourself.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
