Hello! My name is Jessica Bonaventura. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 7 years of clinical experience providing therapy for various individuals with addiction, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder, among many other mental health diagnoses. I enjoy using a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, DBT, and a psychoanalytic approach to help clients understand how their past has affected their present. I specialize in Rumination-Focused ERP for OCD. This approach to ERP focuses on treating compulsive rumination, and provides a highly systematic yet gentler approach to exposure therapy. RF-ERP can be helpful to patients who have not made significant progress in other types of treatment, including individuals with Pure O or Sensorimotor OCD.

People come to me for help with a range of difficulties: Some have problems with relationships, work or school; others are reacting to stress or going through a difficult period in their lives. Many are troubled by anxiety, depression or other unhappy feelings, or feel blocked from being effective and comfortable at work or at home. Often they have tried treatment before, without success. I collaborate with each person to evaluate his or her needs carefully, and tailor therapy to that individual. For some people brief therapy is best, for others it takes longer.

I was born in Buenos Aires,the capital city of psychoanalysis. My fascination with it led me to a group that followed the teachings of French psychoanayst Jaques Lacan. I am a member of WAP (World Association of Psychoanalisis).
