My experience working with at-risk populations has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the impact trauma has on an individual. I support and work with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Clients can expect to enter an accepting, welcoming environment so we can work together through life’s obstacles from the past and help you find peace in the present. I believe that empowerment is one of the strongest tools a client can have so I help facilitate that by holding client-led sessions where I am able to support your experience and help you voice your narrative about it.

Ms. Deena Robertson, a Licensed Resident in Counseling, has genuine compassion and empathy for those who have walked through difficult life experiences. She believes in emotional growth, hope, compassion for yourself, and understanding your traumatic experiences. Deena is very trauma-informed and believes in a non-discriminatory and non-judgmental environment that allows healing, growth, and true insight. Deena received her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling at Liberty University.

My goal for all my clients is to empower them with the tools to live a rewarding and fulfilling life, no matter the challenges that arise. I prioritize a person-centered approach, recognizing that each person is an individual with unique goals and needs. I will work with you to identify your goals and create a plan tailored to your strengths to help you move forward.

Stephanie's 10 years in the mental health field has given her the opportunity to serve and counsel individuals, couples, and families working through depression, anxiety, marital stress, trauma, family strain, self harm, and suicidal ideation. She has worked on hospital psychiatric units and outpatient offices. She is trained as a facilitator in the premarital/marital assessment tools and education from SYMBIS, PREPARE/ENRICH, and Level I Gottman Training. She is trained in EMDR and uses it with clients working through trauma. Stephanie is also an AAMFT supervisor candidate who supervises students and residents.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, teens, young adults and families struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, behavioral issues, mood disorders, daily life stressors, self-esteem, identity development and self-concept issues. Additionally, enjoy working with at-risk youth and children and adolescents in foster care.

In my role as a counselor, I support individuals who have experienced trauma or pain in their lives. Much of my work focuses on processing trauma, building awareness, and practicing doing something different. I have a special interest in assisting clients through relationship concerns, personality disorders, and dysfunctional families. The people that I work with often feel stuck in unhealthy patterns of behaving, thinking, and feeling. Counseling offers you the intentional space to explore those stuck points and build new patterns to sustain a satisfying life.

Mandy is a licensed professional counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a National Certified Counselor. She has completed her Bachelors degree in Psychology, along with her Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University. She has had the honor with working with a variety of populations including children, adolescents, adults and couples for over the past five years. My passion for counseling and working closely with people and their stories has always been a part of what drives me. I am particularly passionate about working closely with those who experience trauma of any kind as well as the affects that come along with it such as anxiety, depression, family issues, relationship issues etc. I specialize in working with women, in particular, to help them see that no matter where their story has led them to until now, that their story matters regardless and healing can be found in each chapter.

I was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia, but have had the amazing opportunity to live and work all over the country including: Washington, DC; New Orleans, LA; Miami, FL and Boulder, CO. Lynchburg is by far my favorite place and I was happy to return home in 2005. I enjoy cooking, gardening, reading and spending time with my family and friends. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2003 with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Community Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling.
