My treatment approach is based on over 10 years of providing testing and treatment services. In every case, my primary treatment goal is to help my clients develop the necessary skills--both thinking and behaving-- to improve their health, academic performance, day-to-day functioning and sense of well-being and self-efficacy. Hi, I am Kelly Larsen, a licensed therapist in the state Texas and Florida. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have spent the last 10 years of my career working with children and families in a psychiatric hospital, domestic violence and sexual assault shelter and now a private practice. I have a wealth of knowledge in issues related to depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, abuse, eating disorders and personality disorders. Our work will focus on cultivating self-acceptance, embracing uncertainty and fostering renewed hope.

In my counseling, I assist clients as they orient themselves to their situation and work alongside them to establish a path towards wellness. I may advise clients to complete inventories or seek medical treatment to facilitate their work and progress. I will approach individuals' religious/cultural differences and perspectives with curiosity and sensitivity. During counseling I may use Restoration Therapy, DBT skills, or EMDR to help clients.

We've all heard that adage: "People go to therapy for the people in their life that WON’T go to therapy”, and it's funny because it's absolutely true!
