I firmly believe that it is most important to create authentic connections with clients. Real healing only happens when both the client and the counselor can be their real selves. I work to create within therapy a genuine and safe space that is not always easy to find out in the world. I hope to help clients learn to create these safe places for themselves through improved life and relationship skills. My goals are the client’s goals as my client-centered approach leads me to seek a better understanding of the client’s worldview and how it interplays with their daily tasks and interactions with others.

He specifically loves working within the dynamic of a couple. My training includes a MA in counseling, MS in marriage and family therapy and BS in human development and family studies. I have worked in the mental health field over 15 years and have been licensed since 2006. My areas of expertise range from community mental health to crisis intervention.

My name is Jamie Shields. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Licensed Chemical Dependence Counselor. My experience with children, teens and adults spans over two decades.
