Welcome to my counseling practice. My office is a house to help make clients feel welcome. I have 2 dogs and a cat who are eager to welcome you to our office. We are a laid back environment and our number one priority is to make you feel welcome so that whatever issues you bring to us make you less anxious and open to share how we might can help you!

I commend you for taking the first step on your journey to make changes that will improve your life. Depression fear and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. These emotions can be crippling and difficult to overcome alone. You do not have to do it alone. My education and life experiences enable me to offer effective counseling to individuals, who suffer from these emotions along with grief/loss, low self-esteem, addiction and more. Through counseling and treatment, I can help you recover motivation, perspective, and the joy that you once had in your life.

My goal is to meet the mental health needs of children, adults, and families in our community by equipping them with the tools they need to improve their lives and empower the changes they wish to see. Having worked in child welfare for the past 25 years, I have become interested in the impact that trauma has on a person's' brain and their ability to cope with adversity in their lives. I hope to make a difference in our community through the healing of individuals during their most difficult times with grace and understanding of their needs and promoting healing, a positive sense of self-worth, and reducing depression and anxiety.

Having served children and families through the child welfare system for nearly 20 years, I am very interested in the impact trauma has on the brain and enjoy my work with children and adolescents as well as adults who have experienced chronic or significant trauma including victims of sex trafficking. We all deserve to feel safe with minimal anxiety in our day-to-day lives. By helping promote a positive sense of self and self-esteem, feelings of anxiety and worry can be reduced while increasing clients' sense of meaning and purpose in life.

As a professional counselor licensed in 2010 and in private practice since 2015, I enjoy working with clients seeking a healthy balance in their lives. Working as a team, I find that the clients benefit most from collaboration to restore areas in their lives that are disjointed. My approach is practical, down-to-earth, and very nurturing. I provide services to adolescents and adults in individual, groups, couples, or family settings. I also offer anger management, grief counseling, and specialize in mindfulness techniques. My professional experience has also afforded me the opportunity to reunite families through the Department of Family Protective Services.

Sometimes this stress makes decision making difficult and talking it out or learning ways to cope with the stress, can increase your ability to function with daily tasks and decisions.

Working with individuals, couples, or families who need help navigating life's most challenging moments is my passion and privilege, as we journey together to find the authentic self and turn the turbulence into tranquility.

Many clients have suffered from covert abuse. They learn to recognize manipulations that have been used to confuse them, to process trauma, to implement skills to communicate effectively, to set boundaries with difficult people, and to manage smear campaigns while simultaneously becoming stronger, wiser, and more resilient as they learn to love and value themselves and trust their judgment. Some clients learn to be better parents or to connect to others on a deeper level. Still others learn to overcome automatic, inaccurate perceptions that damage relationships so they can nurture the relationships they love.

Callie Hunt earned her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and her Bachelors degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and has been working in the mental health field for over 10 years. She has worked in community care, hospitals, the school system, managed care, as well as private practice. She enjoys working with children of all ages and all diagnoses. She also enjoys working with adults and families.

As someone with a Clinical Mental Health background and Family Systems Orientation, I understand that when one person in the family is struggling, it can be a struggle for everyone. I approach mental health and healing from a biological, psychological, social, environmental, and spiritual approach. Healing looks different for each person.

I am excited about working with clients as they navigate the stages in their lives. I believe that people of all ages can make positive changes to improve their relationships, maximize their strengths & potential, & work toward health & healing. I'm passionate about affirming & empowering others as they learn, grow, & find hope and meaning in their lives.
