I offer therapy through online video conferencing on the computer. Life can be full of different challenges; often we deal with them alone. My hope is to provide a space for you to tell your story without judgment. I work collaboratively with adolescents, adults, and couples to improve their relationships and overall quality of life. Regardless of your stage in life, you can expect I will meet you where you’re at, while empowering you to take control of the pen and write the new chapters of your narrative. You don’t have to do it alone anymore. I look forward to supporting you as you become the author of your own life!

The challenges of daily life can cause stress and anxiety. Anxiety can make it difficult to work, sleep, interact with others, or even leave the house. Together, we can explore and address some of the underlying causes of your anxiety and identify strategies for coping with these feelings. In therapy we can explore past stressors, unresolved grief, or unresolved trauma that may also contribute to depression, anxiety, or panic.

Life can feel overwhelming at times. Therapy is an opportunity to gain self-awareness and emotional support during life’s inevitable challenges and obstacles. If you find yourself struggling with anger, stress, fear, hurt, anxiety, shame, or guilt; you don’t have to live this way anymore. Change is always possible. It is my passion helping clients discover a deep appreciation for themselves and the experiences they have been through, while finding joy, purpose, and meaning in their current circumstances.

If you are reading my profile, it is probably because you or someone you love is struggling and needs help. I believe that the success of therapy is dependent on the relationship between the therapist and their client, in addition to the therapists' level of competence. Trauma is what happens, but grief is what lingers. You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or just exhausted. If so, there is a high probability that your heart has been broken from some sort of loss either recently or long ago. You may have experienced the loss of a loved one, a divorce, or the break-up of a romantic or important relationship in your life. You may have developed an awareness that your life is not as happy or fulfilling as you want it to be. Regardless of the hurt you’ve experienced, you know how you feel, and it probably isn’t good. You also know you want to feel better, but you're not really sure where to start.

As humans traverse along this journey called life, one should never feel that they are walking in solitude. The experience of relational conversations that affirm, support, uplift and empower should be a common occurrence, yet sometimes, that is not the case. Therefore, I do the work that I do; I counsel, I encourage, and I motivate. As a counselor, my mission is to help individuals reach their personal goals, assist in restoring families and marital relationships, and encourage children and adolescents to become their personal best.

As a professional counselor licensed in 2001 and in private practice since 2003, I have enjoyed working with clients seeking healthy changes in their lives. I find that many clients already know the answers to their own questions and benefit most from collaboration on breaking through limiting beliefs and behaviors. While the decision to seek counseling can be difficult and stressful, many report that my practical, down-to-earth approach to therapy is very comforting. I provide services to adolescents and adults in individual, couples, or family settings. I will also be offering anger management group therapy in the near future.

I help those that are currently going through relationship problems, and those that are having a hard time dealing with the stress and anxiety of everyday life. I also help men and women that are struggling with depression, stress, anxiety, worrying, and/or prescription drug abuse. I know what it's like wanting the noise to "just stop". Because, once it does we can then breathe and finally figure things out, and begin to live our lives without feeling or being stuck. I believe in a holistic approach to your overall spiritual and mental health, let's declutter the inside, so you can shine bright.

How can I find a therapist in Brazoria County?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
