We can then identify what does or does not work in their lives and expand upon those areas to create desired change. I am able to assist with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, and grief/loss, among others. I welcome all genders and enjoy working with ages 14 through seniors.

Being human is hard. Not only can it be hard but for many individuals being seen, heard and understood are missing from their life experience. I know what it is like to feel overwhelmed, stuck, frustrated, confused, to live in unresolved trauma and how this existence can impact mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. I choose counseling as a way to serve others because I have experienced my own chronic and complex trauma. I provide gentle guidance to individuals actively living in their trauma, experiencing daily anxiety, c PTSD, mood disorders, and neurodivergent humans wanting to heal from ableism. There is hope.

EMDR, trauma informed therapist. I help individuals understand the human experience, their human experience, in a powerful holistic way. I believe that healing is experienced by understanding ourselves, beyond the identities, expectations, and messages we have assumed, often unconsciously, that have shaped how we experience ourselves and our world. I help individuals relieve suffering and find new ways to experience life and have a more fulfilled human experience.

I enjoy working with a variety of mental health concerns, however, the areas I work most with are relationships, finding meaning, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, self-harm, suicide, effective communication, grief, and living authentically.
Being an overthinker myself, I have learned the power of implicit knowing and through mindfulness practices holding space to listen to all parts of self. Validating the unique human experience of each of my clients with warmth and acceptance is priority in the work I do. Feeling truly seen, heard, and understood without judgement builds connections with self and others. I enjoy “being a fellow traveler” with my clients as they find their own voice and empowerment to live the life that aligns best for them. "Awareness is like the sun. When it shines on things, they are transformed." -Thich Nhat Hanh

I enjoy using EMDR therapy to help people heal from trauma and make lasting emotional and behavioral changes.
People seek therapy for many reasons, but most people have one common goal: change. They want a change in how they feel, think, behave or in how they are treated. They want to be truly heard, understood and validated by someone who won't judge or criticize them. They want to heal from their past and feel hopeful about their future. This is exactly what I strive to provide to every client. I’ve helped clients with various presenting concerns including: anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, trauma, relationship and family issues, panic attacks, grief, self-harm, stress and more.

I have extensive experience with providing LGBTQIA+ mental health services, gender affirming care, and trauma recovery.
Currently accepting new clients. Difficult life experiences and obstacles can impact your ability to thrive - experiencing life as if you're going through the motions without purpose and direction. This can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, or guilt. You may begin to experience a lack of motivation, feeling out of control, and you may want to avoid or numb the feelings altogether. You would like to feel differently, but you don't know where to begin. Together, we will work on reducing guilt and shame, increasing empowerment, and meeting your personal goals.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
