I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and owner of Corazon Holistic Health. I have incorporated evidence-based holistic practices to treat individuals. If you have had trouble communicating with your therapist/others or with traditional talk therapy approaches, you have come to the right place. My name is Dena Ewing and I am a board certified art therapist that specializes in trauma therapy and somatic practices to resolve emotional pain and suffering. Many people I treat have often tried different therapies in the past with limited success. My approach to resolving long standing anxiety, trauma and/or depression is by taking a "bottom up" approach, meaning we work with gently connecting to the body first to let it inform the next steps in healing.

Sometimes there are thoughts, memories and moods that are causing us distress. Often, when we try to express these to others, we are left feeling more confused about what we are feeling or misunderstood afterward. Sometimes words fail us and we cannot find the right way to express ourselves and then we find ourselves repeating the same cycles. I have found in my work that when words fail, art can help us bridge that language dead-end. I am a registered Art Therapist; I believe that art is innately human and can provide a safe space to initiate growth and change in individuals.

I work with children (5+), teens, young adults and beyond. My therapeutic focus is in neurodiversity, grief, transitional times in life, anxiety and depression. I use research-based treatment practices including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as Art and Play Therapy. Jillian specializes in working with adolescents, adults and couples who are struggling with anxiety, depression & a variety of other mental issues. She spent the last decade working in private practice and is also a trained art therapist specializing in running Art Therapy groups for adolescents and adults.
