My name is Rebeca. I incorporate my experience at Meridell Achievement Center, which includes working with high-risk individuals that struggled with suicidal ideation/ self-harm/ aggression/ severe depression and anxiety/ and family and social conflict, into my therapeutic technique. Yet, I will work with your unique story by exploring your struggles and unhealthy coping mechanisms to find the turning point that can be reversed using cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focus therapy techniques. I use my unique observation techniques to help them discover both healthy and mal-adaptive sub-conscious patterns.

I specialize in work with children, adolescents, and their caregivers, and have served as President of the Texas Association for Play Therapy and Clinical Editor for Play Therapy Magazine.

I have a passion to help children and families. I bring with me 30 years of experience as an occupational therapist working with children with developmental disorders and sensory processing disorders. I pursued becoming a counselor because I saw how families struggled to meet the needs of their children, and I witnessed the impact on the family system. It is my hope to be able to support families more fully by utilizing counseling to create a foundation of healing and health. As a parent of three sons, I can understand and empathize with the joys and challenges parents face.
