About
I specialize in work with children, adolescents, and their caregivers, and have served as President of the Texas Association for Play Therapy and Clinical Editor for Play Therapy Magazine. As a parent myself I understand that raising children can be challenging, and I am passionate about supporting families in realizing their full potential for love, growth and peaceful relationships. I use evidence based practices to facilitate empowerment, self-control and healing through play, artistic expression, and sandtray therapy.
Everyone deserves compassionate guidance and support, particularly during challenging seasons of growth and development. I am especially skilled at working with gifted children and adolescents as they navigate unique paths towards adulthood. I also have a special interest in attachment and adoption issues, and neurodivergence.
Mandi is a dynamic international public speaker and has presented to thousands of caregivers and counseling professionals. Favorite topics include working with gifted children and families, technology and screen time, children and trauma, sandtray, play therapy, and expressive therapies.
