English
| español | עברית People come to therapy because they want to feel better, plain and simple. But what does that mean? What happens when “talk-therapy” and words are not enough? Sometimes we can understand the source of our problems, but not actually feel any better. The basis of somatic therapy is that it incorporates and unites your body and mind. So instead of saying ‘what happened?’ or 'how does that make you feel?’ I might ask "when you feel joy, what do you notice in your body?” Bringing therapy out of your head and into the body allows for a whole different level of change and healing. My work is based on my training in somatic modalities.
We can’t always think our way out of traumatic experiences or struggles. Somatic work stresses the natural ability of our nervous system to heal. In our work together we will use Somatic Experiencing, EMDR and Brainspotting, as well as pieces from psychodrama and other expressive arts, using a poly vagal lens, to support growth, flexibility and healing.
I have a strong commitment to providing a space that is accepting, empathetic, non-judgmental and non-shaming. Using a somatic and poly vagal lens I support a deeper level of your story to be heard. I invite you to contact me for a short phone consultation so that we can decide if we would be a good fit to work together towards your goals.
