Hi! I'm Kristine (she/her) and welcome to my practice. I provide individual counseling for children, teens, and young adults who struggle with self-esteem, neurodivergence, anxiety and depression. Our group practice is dedicated to centralizing care for marginalized communities including People of Color, Queer, Transgender, Nonbinary, Neurodivergent, and Disabled individuals. We understand the importance of culturally sensitive therapy that honors your unique story and journey. You deserve a safe space to express yourself fully without judgment or stereotypes. Therapy is a courageous step towards healing, not a sign of weakness. We aim to create an environment where you can speak freely without the burden of taking care of the therapist. My ideal client is an adult or late teen/young adult, with an interest in improving and transforming their life via therapy. I focus on the whole person, contextualizing presenting problems/diagnoses within the framework of family dynamics, peer relations, trauma history, physical health, and job/school experience. That is, I don't consider it useful to assume that issues arise in a vacuum! The greatest gift my clients give me is their ability to teach me far more than I could possibly teach them. I consider our time in session one of validation, hope, and intense curiosity about my client's lives.

I see adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, stress, and relationship issues. I treat people struggling with alcohol or drug abuse. I also treat people who have been affected by the substance use of another. My clients want a clear understanding of the origins of their issues, and help with steps to move forward. I provide a pathway to the resolution of conflicts and help clients avoid repeating dysfunctional patterns of behavior.

I am a seasoned therapist with more than twenty years of success helping people from late adolescence to adulthood experience healing and lasting change. I utilize a positive, motivational counseling approach that helps people identify goals for themselves, notice where they are stuck, and move towards making meaningful shifts in their lives. I have worked in many environments including community mental health centers, home based environments, public schools, and private practice. These experiences have allowed me to empathize with both children and adults facing varying struggles including poor social skills, traumatic events including sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, socioeconomic concerns, symptoms related to ADHD, as well as family and relationship concerns.

I have been a licensed psychologist for the past 32 years. I have always felt it is a privilege to work with people and help them achieve the life they desire. My approach is to help people look at past events and experiences which affect their mood and behaviors today and prevent them from getting what they want in life. I also focus on the present by teaching people skills to lead a healthy and fulfilling life. We set goals together and work towards meeting them.
