I have a plethora of lived experience in many of the areas I specialize in, so I bring a unique understanding to the therapeutic relationship.
Life is a journey, and sometimes there are bumps and pitfalls along the way. When you experience a bump in the road, a pitfall, or are tasked with deciding which road to take, it can be natural to feel anxious, sad, angry, and/or overwhelmed. My job, as a licensed marriage and family therapist for over the past decade, has been and is to walk alongside you and help you navigate these bumps, pitfalls, and decisions. I will help you identify what your goals for the therapeutic process are, will provide an empathic ear, will brainstorm with you, and will create a safe space for you to talk about and sort out your problems!

I also work with clients with relationship issues to overcome marital conflict, divorce, separation, co-parenting and adult children issues.
It is daunting to decide to see a therapist, especially if you are not familiar with clinical treatment. Sometimes you need help uncovering thoughts and feelings regarding concerning matters. Are you so anxious, depressed, and angry that you feel overwhelmed? Or do you want to be a more social, confident, and positive individual? Each client is unique. The ultimate goal of therapy is to allow a client to learn about themselves in order to be more proactive and live the fullest life possible.

Are you struggling to cope with life transitions? Many of us are experiencing significant anxiety due to changing work environments, parenting children who aren’t in school or attempting to navigate the changing social conditions. Are you feeling stressed by a traumatic event? Perhaps you are experiencing a divorce, have family conflicts or are alone as an empty nester. These circumstances can impact your connection with loved ones, colleagues, and most importantly, the relationship with yourself. If you are the last person on the list who gets your time and attention, let's change that, and create the life you envision.

" Considering new discoveries in neuropsychology by Alan Schore and others, we now know that transformation and healing take place within the safety of intimate relationship.
While clients report concerns about depression, anxiety, addictions, relationships, etc., they are often laboring under the impact of past and/or present dysfunctional relationships. These hurts and difficulties give rise to symptoms that provoke seeking help and relief. By courageously exploring these relationships, understanding their thoughts and emotions, my clients often find new freedom to live loving and purposeful lives. I have been helping adults, teens and couples find increasing freedom for over 30 years.

Does your everyday life and functioning revolve around food, weight and shape? Do you obsess about food and body size? Is your self-image largely based on what you look like? We live in a society obsessed with dieting, weight and fitness, which can make it difficult to know if you or someone you care about has an eating disorder. I have years of experience helping people recover from eating disorders and develop a healthy relationship with food, body, mind and self.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
