While clients report concerns about depression, anxiety, addictions, relationships, etc., they are often laboring under the impact of past and/or present dysfunctional relationships. These hurts and difficulties give rise to symptoms that provoke seeking help and relief. By courageously exploring these relationships, understanding their thoughts and emotions, my clients often find new freedom to live loving and purposeful lives. I have been helping adults, teens and couples find increasing freedom for over 30 years.
My treatment approach is suited to the individual needs of a particular client. There is no one size fits all. As we talk and they feel heard and understood, they frequently find this gives rise to new and useful understandings that bring symptom relief and greater satisfaction in their life.
Dr. Donald Kalsched states in his book, Trauma and the Soul, "what has been broken relationally must be repaired relationally." Considering new discoveries in neuropsychology by Alan Schore and others, we now know that transformation and healing take place within the safety of intimate relationship. This is my goal in my work.
