We are licensed psychotherapists who have been practicing for over 30 years. Our therapeutic work is based in the idea that quality of life is largely dependent upon a feeling of belonging or a sense of connectedness to others. Sometimes though, we feel unwanted, lacking value and self-worth. We can be profoundly uncertain of our own potential or where we stand in our relationships with others. We all grapple with stress, self-doubt and the challenges of finding meaning, purpose, and solving our ultimate existential concerns - "Who am I," and "Where am I headed?"

I have been a licensed psychotherapist and marriage counselor for over 30 years. Conflicts can seem insurmountable. This is especially so when we lack insight into not only ourselves and our own childhood wounds, but also the developmental origins of our partner's behavior. My therapeutic work is based in the idea that quality of life is largely contingent upon a feeling of connectedness to others. Through thoughtful and compassionate understandings/insights, my goal is to help couples let go of resentments - the obstacles to intimacy - and develop deeper, safer bonds, and a more realistic appreciation of their valued partnerships.

I address all issues from the perspective of a person's environment. We all exist in the context of a family, a community and a culture. In therapy we often find that there is nothing wrong with us, depression, anxiety, etc., are not innate dysfunctions but rather result from conflict that arises in our environment. I like to help individuals, couples and families learn about these environments to better navigate them as well as learn about themselves and what it means to be who they are in the context of their environment.

Sessions can be in person and telehealth.
In today’s fast-paced world of economic stress and trying to make ends meet, it’s not uncommon to feel exhausted, have trouble sleeping, or encounter difficulties in work and relationships with immediate or extended family members; kids, spouse, or in-laws. If you’re experiencing fatigue or a disinterest in activities you once valued, it’s time to take those feelings seriously. You may find yourself wishing for connection while isolating, or you might be burdened by worries about your future. Coping mechanisms can arise, like overeating, oversleeping, insomnia, or using self-medication with alcohol or other substances.

Look, self-care is hard. So is talking to a random guy about your feelings. I'm not going to claim to have the answers, but we'll work together and I'll meet you where you are. Life is full of stressors and we can tackle them regardless of size. I recognize that even a lot of "small" issues can add up and cause significant distress. I use cognitive behavioral therapy and utilize a strengths based perspective. I also offer EMDR. I specialize in adults, teens, and the LGBT population. I also enjoy working with athletes and can help manage the stressors that come with being a student athlete.

Life is not an easy road to travel, so let's team up and travel together! There can be a number of things that makes someone's journey more difficult: becoming a new parent, relationship challenges, peer issues, not finding joy in the day to day, a recent traumatic event, or something from the past trying to relive in the current moment.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but it can also open the door to healing and growth. I work with children, teens, and adults in Pennsylvania who are navigating challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and other stressors like adjustment to change. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood. I use a collaborative, individualized approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills.
