I like to remind my clients to recognize the power they hold in their own lives. I work collaboratively with my clients to increase self-worth and reframe faulty or problematic narratives and patterns. I try to create and maintain an environment of safety and validation to support individuals in overcoming past and/or current obstacles and creating last change in their lives.

With over 30 years of experience, I create a safe environment to be heard, accepted, and challenged for true growth and happiness. My passion is working with individuals, families, and parents struggling with daily parenting and relationship issues. With a strong background in treating those with addictive behaviors, such as substance use, disordered eating, gaming, and relationship dependencies, I use an individualized, eclectic approach to treat everyone and their families individually, with care, compassion and understanding.

With over 30 years experience, I am a child & adult psyciatrist practicing primarily psychotherapy, addressing a full range of issues from emotional strains, anxiety, depression and trauma, to developmental issues including gender development, autistic spectrum and psychosis. I am former Chair of the Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Training Program at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia. Since the time of COVID and with the myriad of changes in our world, lives become unsettled at home, work, in our families and our personal relationships. I work with children, adults, couples, families, parents and infants.

I believe that maintaining and focusing on our mental health should be as normal as attending to our physical health, and just as important. Therapy is a way to work through the challenges of life, understand ourselves more fully, and work towards a place of wellness unique to each person. Therefore, I use multiple evidence-based modalities, coupled with a therapeutic style that is impartial, non-judgmental, and encouraging, specific to each person’s needs. I enjoy working with children, teens and adults of all stages of life. I am passionate about working with women's issues & also enjoy working through spiritual/faith issues.

I am very excited that you are taking the next step in your healing journey! My name is Dr. MD and I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with over 15 years of clinical experience and training. I received my family therapy training at Drexel University where I received my doctorate degree. Since then, I have worked in a wide variety of settings, equipping me with a wealth of knowledge and experience helping clients deal with various challenges.

As a Board certified psychotherapist with 30 years of private practice, I have seen quite a bit. For me, there is no ideal client, or issue. What is important is that each new client put in the work. It isn't easy, but it can be worth it. Therapists don't have magic wands- we need our clients to be engaged and to try and trust the process. If so, then we can often achieve the treatment goals that you have set.
