Advanced Counseling and Research Services provides a comprehensive array of professional counseling services to the greater Lancaster community. In general terms, these clinical services help clients address problematic issues in their lives that are impacting on their daily lives. Throughout the counseling experience, the counselor and client work collaboratively to address problems presented by the client. The overall purpose of counseling can be summarized in the following objectives: To identify the problematic issues facing each individual client seeking counseling. To identify secondary issues contributing to problem.
Cheryl Wilson-Smith is a Certified Traumatologist, and Licensed Professional Counselor, a member in good standing with the American Counseling Association, Association of Assessment and Research Counselors, as well as the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, and The Green Cross Academy of Traumatology. She specializes in traumatic stresses.

Healing Techniques: DBT Women's Group
In this 15 week psychoeducational group, you will learn the foundational principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) that can help you regulate emotions and become more effective in your behavior and interactions with others. Learning practical skills along 4 areas: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. We will start with a mindfulness practice facilitated by the group instructor, explanation of the specific week's skill focus, discussion of personal application for these skills, and a homework assignment to practice in order to be reviewed the following week. Facilitated by Jenna M. Wolfe MA, LPC, CAADC, CCTP, C-DBT.
