I also run Art Therapy groups to increase insight and mindfulness about symptoms/coping skills, which have been effective in improving moods and decreasing stress, creating a sense of community, and a family away from family (but not during COVID).

As a Licensed Professional Counselor my goal is to help you become your best self. If you are in need of support with past traumatic issues I have worked for over 10 years helping people who have suffered many traumatic events. In addition, I have worked with many families to help them and their children when it comes to parenting, adjusting to separation, divorce or blending your family effectively after a divorce. I also work with adults and children who suffer from anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-harm, mood disorders, and gender identity issues.

Melissa received her Master’s Degree in Infant Mental Health Counseling from Chatham University. She is a licensed professional counselor. She primarily works with children and adolescents. Melissa uses child-led therapy practices to build rapport and trust in sessions. Melissa has experience with engaging clients in play therapy and attachment based therapy. She has worked with children experiencing issues with depression, anxiety, ADHD, anger, and other behavioral/emotions concerns. She enjoys working with children and families to improve the overall wellbeing of the child.

Kim has over seven years of experience working with individuals, couples, families and groups of all ages. Her treatment of those with loved ones who suffer from substances use issues challenges individual thought processes and family patterns that keep people vulnerable to addiction. Kim has personal and professional experience and training to work with families formed through foster and kinship care and adoption. She can help you to define what you want in your relationships to help create lasting and rewarding relationships. Kim practices from an approach to therapy that considers relational dynamics.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certfied Rational Hypnotherapist that focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship in order to help individuals, couples and families to better cope with various relational, emotional and psychological issues.

There are situations in life when you may feel it's too difficult to handle things on your own. Sometimes family and friends are unable to give you the guidance or insight that you may need to resolve or manage your problem. It's in these times that therapy can help. I have successfully treated a wide-range of issues including, but not limited to; grief, loss, trauma, mood and anxiety disorders. I have also successfully worked with couples who are dealing with infidelity and/or communication issues.

As a licensed clinical social worker with more than 40 years experience of working with families and individuals of all ages, I find that the most effective approach is one that is strengths-based with a strong emphasis on helping clients solve the problems that bring them to me for therapy and also on helping them develop powerful resiliency characteristics that allow for future problem-solving, conflict resolution, goal-attainment, wellness, and life satisfaction. My ideal client is one who likes to learn. Trauma survivors, in particular, do well with this approach.

As a therapist I believe all people have the inherent strength to make positive life changes and often just need empowered through compassionate support. We all have times in our lives when we get stuck in our relationships and just need new effective ways of coping and communicating. I practice from a trauma focused and structural family perspective. I have been very successful in helping couples, families, individuals, and adolescents make positive changes that have lead to feelings of peace, healing, a sense of personal accomplishment, and problem resolution.
