Anxiety is everywhere these days. We're all making our way through a sea of unknowns, and our children are along for the ride. I believe that YOU, a parent or caregiver, have been doing the very best that you can for your child. I also know that with limited resources, a lack of external support or your own mental health strain, supporting a struggling child often feels impossible. My approach with children is gentle, curious and playful. I use expressive therapeutic tools most often (art, play, movement) and let the child lead. I view behavior through the lens of the nervous system and regulation, and lean heavily on the neuroscience insight from my two favorite organizations: Synergetic Play Therapy and Hand in Hand Parenting.
I fervently believe that children are smarter than we think. At a biological level, they know how to heal. I also know that anxiety, at its core, is not bad. It’s necessary, but so easily kicks into overdrive. We’ll work together to identify and achieve goals so your child can downshift and find the way back to ease, confidence and connection with others.
