I offer counseling and psychotherapy to individuals and families. I have worked with a wide range of issues and people in a variety of settings. My therapeutic approach may differ somewhat with each client depending on their personality and what is agreed upon in our initial setting. I lean toward the client centered approach which allows the client to pace the sessions with what they are most comfortable dealing with first. Depending on the needs of the client I often focus on interpersonal interactions, cognitive change and behavioral techniques. The approach is a collaborative decision discussed during the initial session.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Erie, Pennsylvania. I work with individuals of all ages including children, adolescents and adults. My approach to therapy is prescriptive eclectic with extensive training in Anxiety, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Play Therapy. I specialize in treating a variety of issues related to stress, career/life balance issues, trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, depression, and adoption related issues. In addition, I have served for 8 years as Board Member for the Pennsylvania Association for Play Therapy.

I am here to counsel people who want to feel happier more content or to reach their goals. Some common problems are depression, substance abuse or dependence, anxiety, relationship, anger, bi polar, psychosis and schizophrenia, and family problems. Counseling supports the client to discuss and understand ones issues, needs, style, while developing insight and learning new skills. Most issues can improve through individual or family counseling. We will work together to improve your; emotional health, problem solving and goal setting. I strive to help create a collaborative therapeutic relationship with my clients, while also acknowledging they are the experts in their lives. I work with clients to heal and move towards their life goals. Our work together encourages growth and new creative outlets. I am also training as a yoga instructor and incorporate somatic healing into my therapy practice.

Chris Rostek has specialized in outpatient mental health treatment since 1995. She has worked in adolescent inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient settings since 1992. She offers both individual and family therapy when needed. Her treatment approach incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy with supportive therapy using relaxation, stress management, improved communication skills, conflict resolution and identification of feelings. She treats depression, anxiety, ADHD and mood disorders.
