Many of us struggle daily with issues like anxiety, stress, depression, anger or just feeling misunderstood. We may feel stuck and ashamed at our inability to just will ourselves into being "better". This internal suffering is so common, but the good news is we all possess an internal capacity for change. It hurts to feel "stuck", but making changes can also be hard to do on our own. I have years of experience working with folks with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, addiction, stress and other personal challenges. I am specially trained and committed to supporting clients in the LGBTQ community and immigrant populations.

My therapeutic journey has had me work with a diverse range of individuals. While I have assisted clients of all ages, my primary experience is with teens through middle-aged adults. Additionally, I possesses a specialized skill set for working with individuals with disabilities, stemming from my lifelong involvement in volunteering and working within the disability community. My proficiency extends to a wide array of diagnoses, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, chronic illness, adjustment disorders, and avoidance disorder.

I find that clients who benefit from my services are typically experiencing excessive stress or a personal crisis in their lives. They may struggle with feelings of anxiety, grief, guilt or depression on a periodic or chronic basis; they may face work problems or ongoing health problems that increase their psychological distress; they may also feel confused or disheartened by relationship problems with partners, family members or friends. I am able to assist these clients by helping them understand the underlying source of their problems and by developing realistic alternatives that can help resolve these issues.

I am an experienced psychotherapist with a focus on mind, body and spirit and how they all work together to achieve a balance mental state. I have worked in the field of Mental Health Counseling for over 20 years and have extensive experience working with adults, families, adolescents and children. I received much of my clinical training and experience working in inpatient hospital, residential treatment and outpatient treatment settings. During that time I held a variety of professional positions, received quality supervision and completed my Masters Degree in Community Counseling.

Therapy doesn't have to be a serious, scary or daunting process.
