I am passionate about helping clients to be more in the here and now (mindfulness), develop self-compassion, create healthy boundaries, make sense of their emotions and pain, and create a meaningful life. In my practice, I offer individual therapy and support for adults and adolescents struggling with a variety of challenges. From perinatal mental health, anxiety, depression, family/relationship issues, adult children of mentally ill/narcissistic parents, people pleasing and codependency, career stress, self-esteem issues, life transitions, school and behavioral issues or body image, I am here to help you through it.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 30 years of experience working in both outpatient and inpatient settings. During these wonderful 30 years I have had the privilege of being a Clinical Director and therapist for adolescents and adults in trauma recovery experiencing dual diagnoses with mood disorders and substance abuse. For the past several years I have enjoyed working at Hero’s Program of New Beginnings where I work with active duty and military veterans. My areas of focus are working with ages 15+ and adults dealing with trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression, addictions, mood disorders, self-esteem, OCD and moral injury.

As an EMDR therapist, I use EMDR to work with clients who have experienced trauma. I sometimes use DBT with clients who struggle with emotion regulation and for whom EMDR is not a good fit. I assist many clients who struggle in their relationships with unhealthy, narcissistic, or addicted partners. I also assist clients struggling with anxiety, OCD, and depression. I am an Attachment theorist and feel it is beneficial to incorporate one's childhood into the therapeutic process (though it may or may not be the focus of treatment).

I am the co-owner of Family Therapy Clinic of Louisiana, LLC. I have over 28 years of clinical experience, providing a variety of services including psychological assessment, cognitive-behavioral treatments, and medication management. Although I treat a number of clinical conditions, I specialize in working with anxiety-based disorders including OCD, PTSD, and performance anxiety issues. I have worked with hundreds of athletes, and provided psychological services for LSU's Athletic Department over a period of 17 years. I am also licensed as a Medical Psychologist and manage medications for a variety of treatment issues.

Motherhood is often described as a blissful experience full of connection and contentment between mother, baby, and family. However, the truth is motherhood (and parenthood) can be a difficult transition. Sometimes, it isn't what we expected. Sometimes, mothers and spouses feel anxiety, depression, OCD, mood swings, or relationship difficulties. My passion for helping families began from my own experience with motherhood. My goal is to provide education, support, and treatment to women and families experiencing difficulties before, during and after pregnancy and/or loss. You are not alone. You can get through this. I believe that understanding and processing the roots of your trauma, which led to unhealthy and unwanted patterns, allows for holistic healing.
