As a licensed therapist, I'm dedicated to helping people overcome challenges. As a mom, wife, sister, daughter, friend, and human, I understand life’s complexities. I assist clients dealing with issues like anxiety, depression, time management, organization, life transitions, executive functioning struggles, work-related stress (corporate and non-corporate), family dynamics, school, and social concerns. I work with adolescents, college students, young adults, and adults.

Being involved in the process of helping people deal with their struggles and difficulties in life is a privilege. Every individual is different, with different personalities and backgrounds, however with encouragement and support, we all have the ability to look within ourselves and move forward in our growth as human beings. I offer you a safe environment where together we can explore your inner conflicts that either have you stuck, or prevent you from being as happy as you deserve to be.

It can enhance your spirituality and feeling of connection with yourself and others.

Traveling to that deep part of yourself with an experienced guide makes all the difference. In an atmosphere of trust and respect you will have the opportunity to reflect out loud about your struggles and conflicts. Through the revelation of your self to yourself in the presence of the caring "other" the challenges that you face become lighter, the path to resolution becomes clearer. Also, consider taking classes to become a Reiki practitioner/Master. Live your life's purpose!

Having worked extensively with Pastors and members of various denominations, I have an understanding of the obstacles many encounter, regarding their spirituality.
Many of us experience instances in our lives, in which we feel overwhelmed and engulfed in sadness. We may find ourselves in periods of despair, or just needing someone to help navigate disruptions in our relationships. With over 20 years of experience, I have been trained to assist individuals with the struggles of life, to empower, and provide effective coping skills.

My view on successful psychotherapy is that it provokes insight, motivation and productivity for you, not only in session but out in life. Together we create a purely confidential, client-focused relationship to distinguish your desired outcomes. Then, using a blend of mind-body and cognitive-behavioral techniques, we explore your thoughts and how they shape the way you feel and behave. We also develop new patterns of thought and behaviors to create the way you want your life to be. Lifestyle behaviors such as diet, exercise, self-care and social interaction also come into play as they shape the whole person.

Spirituality Therapists

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?

Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?

There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?

Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?

Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
