Lauren is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor Intern. With an interest and concentration in trauma informed practices, Lauren believes in a person-centered therapeutic approach, having client needs and goals at the forefront of treatment. She is certified in Crisis Disaster and Trauma Training through Association for Advanced Training in Behavioral Sciences as well as having received her first certificate of completion for EMDR training and will be pursuing full certification in 2023.

A Mindfulness-Based approach is central to our programs. We provide individual, group, couples, and family counseling sessions to resolve problems related to couples communication, substance abuse, anger, domestic violence, parenting and grief issues. We offer an exceptional reduced fee program for sessions provided by interns supervised by a MFT and LADC. Many of our clients have been mandated by the courts to attend programs for DUI/substance abuse/dependence, domestic violence, anger management, and/or parenting.

Accepting New Clients-Life can present many struggles that can be stressful to both mind and body and get overwhelming where we aren't sure what to do or where to start. Sometimes a person might feel like they are the problem but cannot comprehend how relationships, finances, and society can contribute to issues. Therapy can help individuals, couples, and families work through obstacles and promote meaningful change. Therapy can encourage growth, empower, and honor a person's worldview by listening, guiding, and being with the client where they are on their journey. Skills can be learned to promote self-esteem and achieve goals.

I have a Master's of Science in Mental Health Counseling, focusing in Clinical Professional Counseling and a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family studies. I am a licensed CPC in Nevada and a certified Perinatal Mental Health Counselor. My therapeutic style is based on each individual client and group. In each session, clients learn more about themselves and their interactional patterns through talk therapy and art therapy. My goals are to help each individual work through everyday life, find true joy, learn the beauty of forgiveness, and help discover their most authentic self.

Parenting can be one of the most rewarding experiences in life, but it can also be one of the most challenging. As new parents, we quickly learn how our babies communicate their needs. When kids get older however, they sometimes have difficulty expressing themselves effectively, resulting in behavior problems. Behavior is the language of unmet needs.
