My name is Willie Johnson. I am a licensed clinical social worker in Las Vegas, NV, with over 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples, families, groups who are dealing with anger, trauma, attachment issues, depression, anxiety, panic attacks and other mood disorders. It’s extremely important for patients to realize and distinguish the difference between their original true personality and their bodies, feelings, thoughts, and emotions. As a therapist I have learned every client is unique in their experiences. Their sense of themselves, their outlook on life, needs and expectations are individualized and no single method or theory is helpful to everyone. I approach each client and session with an open mind, and self awareness while exploring with the client what was, what is, and what can be.

I'm a Vegas native with a strong sense of community. In treating my client's I seek to assist them in optimizing their potential. Help them with facing challenges such as inefficiencies and lack of clarity in goals.

I have worked with the elderly, chronically ill, and terminally ill populations. My interest areas include those dealing with complex grief, dealing with life transitions, and coping and acceptance of chronic or terminal diseases, however, I am open to working with clients of various needs and backgrounds, to include the geriatric population and military veterans.

Sometimes life feels like it will be hard indefinitely, and it can be challenging to be vulnerable and share that experience with someone else. I recognize that, and I invite clients to therapy to allow me to share that experience with them. As a Marriage and Family Therapy State Intern, I work with individuals, couples, and families.

I work for the school district with children and adolescents suffering from mental health illnesses as well as behavioral issues.
