I provide individual, couples, and family sessions for the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, relational issues, and substance use disorders. All families, couples, and individuals are welcome. I specialize in working with family systems to better understand the context of a problem. I typically work with teenagers struggling with depression and anxiety, couples experiencing marital stress, and individuals and families with a history of trauma or mental illness. My goal is to support the overall wellbeing of an individual and the health of their relationships with the intent to improve functioning and quality of life.

As a licensed therapist I offer counseling and consultation services to individuals, couples and families using Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems, Psychodynamic and Solution Focused techniques. My treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns.

Benjamin Long is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 4 years of experience in the mental health field working with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan and with varying needs. He enjoys exploring how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are influenced by the different institutions and systems people engage with to identify different areas of intervention. This supports his engaging and collaborative approach that strives to bring positive, creative energies into the therapy room. Ben completed his Master of Mental Health Counseling at William James College with a concentration in Couples and Family Therapy.

I am a Clinical Social Worker with over 28 years of clinical experience and am licensed to practice in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Michigan, Vermont and Maine. My practice focus is in the provision of care to adults and couples, with particular emphasis on serving the LGBTQIA+ community, those navigating transition and poly/cnm relationships. I have an office located in Westford but use a telehealth platform for most visits.

I feel I am a different kind of counselor, because there is not a sense of separation between client and counselor. Clients are often impressed with how quickly times goes in session, they explain, "it's like talking to a good friend", "you make me feel so comfortable and not judged". We still get the work done just as effectively, but prepare to feel more relaxed....our offices are homey and comfortable. We kick our feet up on a coffee table, and chat in a way that allows people to feel more like talking to a friend than a stranger.
