"Liminality" refers to the middle stage of change, the threshhold between what was, and what is yet to be. It is when, and where, we are forced by circumstance or choice to leave behind what is familiar, and to journey into a place of uncertainty. It is a normal part of being human. I named my practice Liminal Therapy to honor the process of change and human resilience. My clients are adults (18+) and include people with ADHD and related anxiety, depression, grief, loss, trauma, addictions, and issues related to the stressors of life stages and transitions. Diversity and multicultural wisdom traditions are welcome and appreciated.

As a licensed therapist I offer counseling and consultation services to individuals, couples and families using Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems, Psychodynamic and Solution Focused techniques. My treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns.

We offer hope, education and trauma informed treatment for people in all phases of decision making around substance use; or other mental health concerns. Psychoeducation, treatment and support on reducing anxiety, depression and stress symptoms, while building confidence, resiliency and balance. Services include: recovery support, Big Emotion/anger management groups; Resiliency Groups; individual, couples, families and teen therapy. We are an IDSP Provider for DWI aftercare; we work with the courts and probation/parole system.

I also offer supervision for MFTs.

Limited daytime openings It's no secret we are living in stressful and difficult times! My approach with clients is personalized to meet each individual's needs and goals. For 30 years, I have worked with adolescents, families, and individuals in various settings. I offer a space for clients to realize their strengths and resilience. In my practice, clients are valued, respected, encouraged, and honored in their journey toward emotional, spiritual, and interpersonal health.

I feel I am a different kind of counselor, because there is not a sense of separation between client and counselor. Clients are often impressed with how quickly times goes in session, they explain, "it's like talking to a good friend", "you make me feel so comfortable and not judged". We still get the work done just as effectively, but prepare to feel more relaxed....our offices are homey and comfortable. We kick our feet up on a coffee table, and chat in a way that allows people to feel more like talking to a friend than a stranger.

(I am currently doing only telehealth, due to the pandemic.) I have had the good fortune to have had the opportunity, the training, and the experience to work with a wide variety of presenting issues. My primary work is with major life transitions, and also with stress, anxiety, trauma, depression and dysfunctional family-of-origin issues. My focus is holistic.

During these chaotic times it is more important than ever to take space and choose self-care. I am also partnered with Rebellious Wellness where we assist individuals to liberate themselves from the influences of diet culture, find freedom in their minds and accept their bodies.
