As soon as I took my first course studying psychology, I knew this was the field I was meant to pursue as a career. Through my experience thus far I have realized that working with adolescents, teens and young adults who are navigating life challenges is where I am most passionate. Challenges such as depression, anxiety, LGBTQIA+ matters, major life transitions, stress management, developing effective communication skills, and self esteem are where I find myself excelling and being of the most help to my clients through the use of a variety of techniques.

Heather Fleuriet, MA, LPA is a Licensed Psychological Associate who received her Master’s in Psychology from University of North Carolina Wilmington. Heather’s background and experience includes working with children and adolescents in the community-based and in home settings; working with college students on a university campus; as well as working with adults in an outpatient setting. Although Heather treats a variety of psychological problems, she is trained in EMDR and specializes in working with individuals with trauma.

Heather Hughes earned her Master's in Social Work with a Certificate in Aging Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008. She works with adolescents and adults using a variety of therapeutic modalities that are tailored to the unique needs of each individual.

I'm also currently offering self-pay rates of $135/intake and $110/individual tx. I also offer reduced rates of $100/intake and $85/follow-up session. I work with ADULTS ages 18+ and COUPLES who are experiencing struggles related to intimate relationships, anxiety, major and persistent depression, grief and loss, trauma, premenstrual dysphoric disorder and adjustment issues. I also offer premarital counseling. I provide care for neurodivergent individuals and the LGBTQIA+ communities specifically.

She has worked as an Art Therapist, Behavior Specialist, and Art Educator in settings including schools, hospitals, juvenile intervention centers, and youth and family services. With a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy and continuing education training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Dakota primarily uses a person-centered, strength-based approach, making care personalized, holistic and meaningful.
