Therapies can include: CBT, REBT, DBT, Choice Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt, and Biblical Therapies to assist with any number of personal and individual or family needs.
I enjoy working with a diverse population of people. I have had a lot of success working with individuals and couples with substance use issues and addictions as well as those with process addictions such as sex/pornography, gambling, etc. Many times, these addictions are rooted in trauma of some kind. Many times, they will manifest in mood disorders, anxiety, depression, and other pervasive disorders. I want the opportunity to help you navigate through those and beat them. We all know that life is difficult but it doesn't have to be this way everyday. Let's get started on finding who we are together and living life again.

Pulling from Brief Solutions Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psychoanalytical, and Narrative Therapy, I use elements from each in a seemingly freestyle manner.
I am a neurodivergent therapist and my neurotype, ADHD, informs my therapy style. I'll follow you down those rabbit holes and tangents, reign it in when necessary, and keep an eye out for connections and common themes related to your goals for therapy. I'm all about personal agency and autonomy. I believe YOU have the answers and solutions inside you already, it's just a matter of finding them!

I believe in tailoring my approach to each individual's or couple's unique needs and goals, which is why I draw from a variety of evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and narrative therapy based on the work of Dan Allender.
Having a hard time with life’s hurts? Getting stuck in a cycle or hung up and can’t seem to get past something? Sometimes it feels like it’s all you can do to survive, and when that happens you don’t feel like you have the ability to deal with the deeper issues that are leading to your struggles. Counseling is a place where you can carve out that time to do the work that will change your life in deep and long lasting ways. I understand that reaching out for counseling can be a difficult and vulnerable step, and so I'm committed to creating a safe and supportive space for my clients to explore their thoughts and emotions.

I primarily utilize Family Systems, Narrative, Feminist, DBT/CBT and Existential therapies to address concerns and create a balance of acceptance and change.
Grief, trauma and systemic oppression have increasingly become visible and universal experiences affecting individuals, couples, families and communities. I began my career working with the survivors of intimate partner violence and individuals/families grappling with cancer and death. These experiences have informed my practice working with individuals, couples and families dealing with loss, grief, trauma, anxiety/depression, major life changes, chronic illness, abuse and relational distress.

I utilized a person centered, narrative therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and a strengths based approach when working with clients.
I'm so busy, I'm overwhelmed, I'm so burned out, I have a lot going on right now. If you have ever used one or more of the previous statement therapy may be for you. I work with clients to explore ways in which stress, anxiety, and burnout impact our lives and how we can navigate them successfully. I strive to meet the needs of each client in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief/loss, imposter syndrome, lgbtqia+ issues, self esteem, racial/ ethnic identity concerns, social justice, and trauma. I love helping people step in their greatness.

At times I may draw on narrative, solution focused and other integrative approaches.
People of all ages can be helped by speaking to a professional about challenges in daily life. The value of the services you receive is related to the effectiveness of the services in meeting your goals. I am committed to providing effective services by maintaining a smaller number of clients, increasing the amount of time I am able to devote to each couple, family, or individual I work with. If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or are just ready to move in a different direction, I look forward to working with you.

In my counseling approach I apply Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy mostly and Gottman and EFT with couples.
Have you ever felt like life gives you more questions than answers? I know that I have! Personally, I had a time in my life where I felt that way and am thankful I was able to navigate it with the help of an understanding therapist. I also love to come alongside people as they are stuck in a rut and are looking for some hope. It is exciting to go from a life of overwhelming confusion and frustration to a path of thriving.

Narrative Therapists

Is narrative therapy evidence-based?

Narrative therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy. Some small studies do show that depressed and anxious individuals who were treated with narrative therapy reported improvement in anxiety and depression symptoms.

How long does narrative therapy last?

Narrative therapy is less structured when compared with psychoanalysis, for example. Narrative therapy is more open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a few months, and sometimes a year or longer. Patients see their therapist one to two times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a person’s challenges and progress. Individuals can also practice the principles of narrative therapy after treatment has ended.

Does narrative therapy work?

Narrative therapy can help a person manage or reduce symptoms of conditions like depression or anxiety. This type of therapy encourages a person to reflect on the moments of their life when their particular problem was not at the forefront of their minds—perhaps life celebrations, achievements, and other successes. The individual is encouraged to rewrite their storyline as if their particular problem was not part of their life. This therapy may offer benefits that are hard to measure.

What are the possible limitations of narrative therapy?

Narrative therapy is person-centered or client-centered, and the health professional pays more attention to the subjective narratives that are constructed by the client, as opposed to other objective measures. The therapist privileges the individual’s perspective over all others. This open form may feel frustrating for individuals seeking a more structured approach; certainly, no one therapy type will work for every individual.
