Change is powerful. We all have the capacity to change, however many times people are overwhelmed by the unknown. I believe that you have the resources and problem-solving skills to affect change. Through the use of collaborative questioning I can aid in discovering solutions to your concerns. I believe change is always occurring and relatively small changes can lead to large changes. My systems base approach encourages positive thinking, for example what is working in your life, to establish therapeutic goals based on issues that are important.

Finding and nurturing a lifetime commitment to someone in our life is what many of us desire.
Have you ever asked yourself “is this what it is supposed to be like?” Feel like your needs are not being met, perhaps you don’t know what YOUR needs are let alone you spouse’s? Shouldn’t it be easier to talk to the person you love than anyone else? Has your trust been broken? Are you fighting to get passion you once had in your relationship back? Is an evening at home for you and your significant other spent staring at each other’s phone. Would you like to find that connection you once had or perhaps you have never been able to develop such a connection. Learn the skills necessary to navigate the ups and downs of a lifetime

I am a therapist first and certified life coach second. Therapy acts as a catalyst for growth and speeds up the process of maturing into the best version of ourselves. I believe that everyone can benefit from this, not just people who have concerns regarding their mental health. I see depression, anxiety, and other challenges as opportunities for deep growth. Adversity helps forge character! For some this can be overwhelming and if this is the case, my first objective is to help relieve these symptoms. From there we can continue discovering you, master the challenges at hand, and keep peeling back the layers of your best self.

Our psychological functioning is always at work creating our moment-to-moment experience of life.
Nothing needs to change in the circumstances or particulars of our lives to rest as peace. In fact, the more we attempt to manipulate and alter the particulars of our lives in order to experience peace, the further we will (seem to) move from what we want. What to do? Nothing. Relax. Give up. Release the grip. Resign ourselves to leaving everything alone, letting everything be as it is. We will find that we have always been standing knee-deep in the very peace we have been looking for. What a relief.

I believe one of your goals in life should be to continually learn how to resolve the problems you run into. Obviously some problems do not go away and cannot be easily resolved. With these, you must learn understanding and coping skills to manage them instead of allowing these problems to manage you. This is what counseling is all about.

I specialize in relationship issues, anxiety and life coaching.
All of us strive to become our best selves and to reach our highest potential. But as humans we're also vulnerable to fear, anger and self-doubt due to past traumas, and life events that can get in the way and knock us off course. I have faced some of these challenges myself. Sometimes we need help from an outside professional who is open, knowledgeable and compassionate. Often just the opportunity to be heard and understood can itself be healing. And the tools and insights learned from therapy can be life-changing. It's not easy but with motivation and a desire to grow, along with the right therapist, real progress can occur.

I specialize in the cognitive-behavioral treatment of anxiety and anxiety-related disorders, depression, trauma, combat trauma, PTSD, and life-cycle challenges like divorce and job/career change. Ideally, patients are interested in a direct, focused, and assertive approach to therapy and are willing to put in the time and effort between sessions to achieve their goals. I believe the goal in therapy must be to resolve the problem, not cope with it. If you've been frustrated by just talking and not doing, I may be able to help you make the changes you're wanting. I prefer to think of my work as psychological rehab rather than therapy.

If you’ve been thinking about reaching out to talk about any part of your life, it would be an honor to meet you and start a journey together.
Sometimes it may feel like your inner worldview and dreams don’t match the outer world’s experiences and expectations. Sometimes we need help to gather all of our feelings, thoughts, beliefs, histories, and dreams in order to speak them out loud and make sense of them in a safe space. My goal is to help you share your story and your light with the world. When we share our story we heal; when we heal, we give to the greater world and the ripple of change is exponential. My ideal client's goals are to live authentically and freely, unapologetically, powerfully, and to find fulfillment in the day to day.

In my ten years as a counselor, it's been my privilege to care for men, teens, and couples wrestling with depression, stress, and anxiety; addiction (drugs and alcohol; gambling; sexual...); the grief involved with divorce; the struggles associated with life's transitions; difficulties in school and relationships; and family conflict. My hope is that the men and women I talk to would be able to experience intimacy in their relationships, fullness of life, and find success in their daily lives.

Behavior Analysis is a powerful science based modality that examines the behaviors that we all engage in on a daily basis. Being rooted deeply in science, that means we leave dreams and horoscopes at the door. Treatment is focused and purposeful, addressing both behavioral deficits and/or excesses. I offer specialization specifically in sexual behaviors (low desire, infidelity, impulse control etc). Clients will be asked to take data, which helps to ensure progress towards goals, and ensures skills developed in sessions are generalized outside of sessions, allowing you to be able to live your best life, even when services end.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
