I have faith in the idea that people can, and do change. In my experience, change is not always a linear process. Often, when trying to change a situation or behavior, people fall short or stumble. Being able to truly evaluate an individual's strengths and building upon those, allows for the needed empowerment to overcome our barriers. I am passionate about helping individuals to overcome various behavioral health concerns. Whether you are facing addiction, anxiety, anger issues, grief, stress, depression or trauma, I use a strengths based approach, coupled with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to build upon your inherit resiliency to affect change.

I have been a Christian Family Therapist since 1989. Therapy at RHCC is focused in Christian beliefs and is Bible based. I believe strongly in the Christian convictions I was raised in and hope to share these with the people I work with in my office. Renewed Hope offers: individual, marital, and family sessions. I am a licensed Master Social Worker. I am affiliated with the American Association of Christian Counselors and Focus on the Family. I truly believe in the ability to improve our lives and families as we make God our anchor.

My personal experience includes working in a variety of settings including inpatient, private practice, group setting, and community mental health. I have specialized training in Eating Disorders and Adolescents. My training includes supervision from a specialist in eating disorders, nutrition and body image for eating disorders, eating disorders with athletes, and eating disorders within adolescents. I also have experience with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, body image, and trauma. I provide an accepting and nonjudgmental approach to help you get to your ideal self. I aim to instill hope and ensure that you don’t feel alone.

People have the power to overcome adversity. My passion is to help you learn how to get back on your feet, find your inner strength, while supporting and empowering you. I am a down-to-earth and accepting person, which creates a safe space to discuss things that can be difficult to talk about. My objective is to create an atmosphere for personal growth, self-discovery, and an opportunity to learn healthier, more realistic, and positive ways of thinking without fear of judgment. I serve a diverse population of individuals, couples, and families and work with clients with an assortment of presenting problems, varying in severity.

My vision began several years ago when I realized that most counseling agencies tend to concentrate on only one aspect of wellbeing, "Mental Health". Our founder was selected prestigiously as a University of Michigan field faculty instructor. We are a Mental Health Therapy office. Our founder has a Master's Degree from the number one school in clinical social work in the United States of America; the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and was clinically trained as a social worker psychotherapist by the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Health System, where she also conducted research on a variety of mental health issues and continue to work with communities and groups of diverse backgrounds.
