Dani graduated with her masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University in Denver, Colorado and then relocated to Traverse City shortly after. Dani also holds a masters degree in College Student Affairs from Eastern Illinois University. Dani works with older teens (18+), young adults, and adults who are struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, life transitions, stress management, LGBTQIA+ Community, trauma/PTSD, and substance use disorders.

Deciding to enter therapy can be intimidating but it shouldn't be. Often people enter therapy because they notice something feels "off" but are having a hard time identifying the problem; others come in knowing the problem but are struggling with how to address it. I will help you clarify the problem and together we will work together to identify goals and create a plan to help you reach those goals.

I provide counseling to those who are struggling with many forms of conflict such as addiction, anxiety, depression, grief and loss. Helping my clients navigate through personal hardships with compassion is priority to me. I walk alongside people dealing with difficult life transitions.

I have worked in the West Branch community since 2014. I earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Michigan State University and a Bachelor's in Liberal Studies and Public Agency Service from Northern Arizona University. I offer 21 years of experience working in Community-Based Services and am dedicated to assisting individuals find healing, develop personal empowerment and recovery. My approach is person-centered, compassionate, psychodynamic, eclectic, and solution-focused. I have served in a variety of settings, including a domestic violence and homeless shelter, a substance abuse treatment center, and Community Mental Health.

I started working as a therapist while living abroad in Italy. I helped families with children with developmental disabilities, and coordinated services within the school systems. I also helped English speaking adults with substance abuse issues. Since moving back to the U.S, I have worked with children with austism spectrum disorder, as well as teens with anxiety and depression. Most recently I have been working with adults with opiate/opioid addiction. I also work with families, couples, and children. As a therapist, my goal is to help people achieve their goals to live happier, healthier, lives.

Life is about balance and balance is not something you find, but something you create. I utilize a variety of different therapy techniques to help individuals, couples, or families improve and grow in their mental health by exploring the imbalance in their life and by focusing on how they can feel better through change. My role as a therapist is NOT to solve problems for people but to help guide them on their journey to find resolution for themselves.
