Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, or ADHD that affects your ability to function in your relationships, your work, and all the things you need to do to get through the daily grind? Do you feel exhausted and overwhelmed, wondering if there's even a light at the end of the tunnel? Do you ever wonder if life really can get better? Many people are struggling with anxiety and depression. Others are trying to overcome childhood abuse and trauma, and still others are trying to overcome the shame and frustration of constantly struggling with accomplishing their day-to-day tasks. I believe that there is hope for a better life.

I have worked with many people managing autism, ADHD and other neurodivergencies, as well as complex trauma and PTSD, as we pursue educational, familial and/or personal goals.
"You are not a drop in the ocean, you are the entire ocean in a drop." Rumi's words are my view of therapy, connection and growth.  To me, therapy is about discovering resiliency and meeting goals.  My clients make lasting changes in their lives as they gain new understanding of their struggles and expand their vision of what is possible.  I love watching clients of all ages increase happiness in their lives.

Some of the diagnoses I treat are grief, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship/Family Concerns, ADHD, Self-Esteem, Life Transitions, Body Image, and young adults who are transitioning into the world of adulthood.
I am so glad that you are here. Taking the steps toward healing is no easy task, so if no one has said it, I am so proud of you. Society spends so much time trying to tell us who we are and what we need to be that sometimes we forget who we are and what we are worth. The hardest part of the therapeutic process is showing up. Healing can be complicated and scary at times. However, through this process, I hope you discover all the beautiful qualities that make you exceptional.

Some of my experience includes dealing with ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome and Traits, Parenting Issues, Adoption, Anxiety (including PTSD and OCD), Depression and other Mood Disorders, Marital/Couple Problems, Adult-Teen Developmental Issues and Conflicts, Problems of Early Childhood, Personality Disorders, Transitions in life such as Divorce or Loss, and formal Cognitive and Personality Assessments.
It takes a lot of courage to seek help, especially in a world that unfairly stigmatizes getting psychological services. Lack of understanding of what therapy is and how people can benefit from it prevents some from using professional services to know and understand themselves better, to improve relationships, and to live more meaningful, fulfilling lives regardless of their challenges. Sometimes people have troubling symptoms due to anxiety, depression, and other disorders and need help to address these symptoms and their causes. I use a variety of approaches to help clients. My goal is to empower clients through a healthy, therapeutic relationship.

I prefer working with individuals aged 21 and up who are battling with anxiety, the trauma legacy, life transitions, ADHD, self-esteem concerns and relationship struggles.
Seeing patients in person in PA and remotely in MD. The journey through life is full of ups and downs and sometimes those downs can create barriers that make us feel stuck and can impact our ability to enjoy the ups. Though it might not feel like it, you have the power and strength to overcome those struggles; it just might take a little help, and hey, we ALL can use a little help navigating the curveballs of life! My mission is to provide that guidance to help unlock the answers within you to create that change you’ve been wishing for.

I have extensive experience working with clients who are dealing with adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, disruptive behaviors, ADHD, anger management, bereavement and grief, separation and divorce, struggling with issues regarding life transitions, sexual orientation, job satisfaction, aging, and self-esteem.
It is natural to have moments in life when you feel depressed or anxious, and especially if you are in a certain stage of life which requires more support, or if life simply threw you a curve ball. Everyone needs to be able to set aside time for themselves, process through their experiences, and then work towards identifying what they need and how to get there. I provide a comfortable, safe, non-judgmental space in which to do that work, collaboratively and creatively. I want to empower you and to help you feel like, "I've got this. I can get through it." Because you can.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
