I've been in Private Practice now for over eight years and have worked in the counseling field for over 40. I've always had a great working relationship with my clients and believe I work well with people who are interested in taking action to make changes. I view change as a process unique to each person and see my role as a Guide. As a duly Licensed Professional, I believe I'm best suited to work with a variety of mental/health, substance abuse issues and am also comfortable working with couples. I only work with adults so please keep that in mind. I offer a sliding scale fee when I am taking clients. Hope to hear from you.
My experience started with a job as a Mental Health worker in the mid 1980's, leading to my eventually becoming a Clinical Counselor. I've worked at several local hospitals including Togus and am EMDR certified and have an extensive background in therapeutic interventions such as ACT, CBT and Motivational Interviewing to name a few.
In addition to educational & work experience like anyone else I have my own "LIFE" experience. Focusing on a balanced path in life is essential and much easier to do when you've found one yourself which leads me to believe change is possible because I've seen & experienced it. "Access To Change" is always what therapy should provide.
