Summer Post is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 5 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families who are coping with severe persistent mental illness, depression, anxiety, trauma, family conflict, substance use, and many other presenting issues that individuals may be struggling with. Summer received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University.

Having worked closely with neurologists, radiologists and many other medical specialties, I can offer you neuropsyc or psych evaluations and brain maps that shed light on problems, and create a treatment plan that really makes a difference. We've helped folks with brain injury or general concerns for cognition, restore memory and attention skills, get to better thinking and reasoning, and enhanced joy in life. I go beyond the limits where others stopped, because rehabilitating brains is my passion.

I am a seasoned psychologist, consultant, clinician who has been practicing in the DC 30 years. I'm returning to f/t self employment/ private practice after working f/t in the medical context at Walter Reed Bethesda, Kaiser, Nursing homes. Strengths as an agent of positive change include my personable, collaborative approach and our success in achieving agreed- upon desired results. I have extensive experience in the fields of behavioral medicine, trauma recovery, hypnosis, and clinical supervision and training. I help clients challenge unrealistic patterns of thinking, deconstruct who they are from who they have learned to be, learn how to feel safe and regulated in their body, identify options for difficult life situations that align with their values, and learn the skills to meet their needs e.g. assertiveness, boundary setting, communication, mindfulness, relaxation and grounding.

Eva strives to create a professional relationship that empowers individuals of all races, cultures, ethnicities, and sexual orientations to accomplish their mental health and wellness goals. Eva has worked with individuals with eating disorders both inpatient and outpatient. She is experienced in the use of neurofeedback in order to treat depression, anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, ADHD, & cognitive dysfunction. Additionally, Eva has a soft spot for individuals on the Autism spectrum and self-proclaimed ‘nerds’ and ‘misfits,’ providing with the support and skills they need to fulfill their goals and improve quality of life.

In these special times I am focusing on ADHD present in adults and mature teens. I would love the opportunity to guide you along at this juncture of your life's journey.
