I strongly believe that the essence of successful treatment is based on estabishing an alliance with the client in which he/she is treated with respect, compassion, understanding and acceptance. Recognizing that not everyone is the same I assess individuals' unique strengths as well as where they are having difficulty. I partner with my clients in defining areas of concern and formulating treatment goals. And I conduct sessions by both actively listening as well as providing direct feedback, interpretation and specific recommendations for effective problem-resolution. I work with individuals, couples and famiies.
I have a strong foundation of formal training as well as over twenty-fiive years of clinical experience in both the private and public domains. I am competent at working with a wide range of symptoms and disorders. I have expertise and extensive experience in conducting psychological testing and evaluation.
As s military combat veteran I have had longstanding interest and involvement in treating both primary and secondary traumatic stress. I served as the Larimer County Mental Health Disaster Response Coordinator for nine years and am currently active in providing critical incident stress debriefings and ongoing treatment to community members.
