I approach therapy with a humanistic lens, that means that I believe that YOU are truly the expert on you. It is my job to provide a supportive environment for us to examine what is and what isn’t working. I will walk with you and hold the flashlight as we explore some of the dark spaces that may be holding you back. Together, we will begin a journey to discover the life that you would like to live and gain the tools you need so you can begin living it.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker specializing in helping adults pursue their potential despite their experiences with trauma, anxiety, health issues, depression, life adjustments and substance use. By exploring our reactions to life's challenges, we can begin to understand how our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are interconnected. This is the key to understanding how to make meaningful adjustments in our lives and alleviate the consequences of behaviors we wish to change.

Why do I need therapy? Therapy is for people who are crazy or out of control! I should be able to do this by myself! Asking or getting help means I'm not capable or strong. People are in therapy "cause they have to be." Couple's therapy is a last resort. Family therapy doesn't work/is not for me. Are any of these questions going through your mind? Is it helpful to know you are not alone? Sometimes, people are apprehensive about engaging in therapy or leery about continuing with therapy. All of the above reactions are understandable considering people's experiences. Licensure supervision/professional consultations offered.

Whether you are facing relational tension, a personal obstacle, or need career advice, every single person needs a place where they feel safe to talk honestly and openly about their life. For many people, mental health professionals provide that safe space where they can regain perspective, clarify their goals, and create a path forward. The counselors, coaches, and therapists at Handel Behavioral Health provide such a space for many clients. During their time, many clients cultivate their self-awareness, examining—with courage and honesty—their strengths and weaknesses.
